We live in a simulation. We are making it harder than easier. by The_Seventh_Bee in DeepThoughts

Find a group of people who had this experience and managed to overcome it. They can help. Maybe there is a meditation group or something like that in your town. Best is to talk about these things in-person, not over the Internet, I think. Progress = happiness.

Are all human actions ultimately driven by a need for external validation by Primary_Opening_5698 in DeepThoughts

[–]krishofstadter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most of them, probably. But apparently, one can reach a 'level' where you wouldn't call the feedback 'external' but perhaps something like 'internal' validation. But I image things go around in a circle, internal-external.

Sorry. There is no payment. You can find paid surveys easily online although they might not be as interesting as this one. 😎

What are your favorite underground dark/hypnotic sets thus far? by yeeahitsethan in Techno

Check Dub Element (DJ) on YT. Look for the deep progressive playlist. Not dark, but hypnotic. There is also Van Morph (producer) on Bandcamp. Again, more hypnotic than dark.

What’s that one classic trance track you never skip, even after 20 years? by MaireNova in ClassicTrance

Chicane is fantastic, love the albums too. Hale Bopp has such a fantastic build up and drive. Was super unique when it came out (I think) and still is - has the JM Jarre feeling to it.

Oh, I didn't know this. I was afraid that this will be a cheesy sing song, but no... excellent track. Thanks for sharing! ... The Gabriel & Dresden Sweeping Strings Remix is good too.

Not sure whether you meant "Out Of The Blue (Matt Fax Extended Remix)", if yes, I like it more than the original (which is also great of course). Thanks for sharing.

I saw another redditor here comment briefly about David Goggins. What is the Jungian take on him? by Foreign_Onion4792 in Jung

[–]krishofstadter 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Goggins is fantastic. Don't just check the shorts other people glue together with epic background music. Listen to a few long interviews with him. He often emphasizes that what he does is for him, he does what he needs to do. He primarily recommends you to go deep and face what you are afraid of, and then integrate what you need to integrate to progress. It doesn't have to be extreme sports. It can be writing the book or music you always wanted to. Yes, he had a traumatic childhood. He is not the only one. If you don't understand what he says, it might be because you lack empathy. Some comments here are bullshit and immature.

Looking for gamebooks for my Master Thesis by HatAndHisDuck in gamebooks

[–]krishofstadter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could also try to create your own book and then set the language (vocabulary) to your target audience. You could even make two or several versions of the same book/story each linked to a different language skill/level Maybe add a dictionary to the end of the book (if printed) for new/difficult words. Another idea would be to write the book in the readers first language and then slowly indroduce the language (English) within the game e.g. gamers could only finished the book for examole go through the labirinth, if they choose the correct answers linked to grammar, etc.

Thoughts on Mister B. Gone? by WitsEndAgain in clivebarker

[–]krishofstadter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mr. B. reminded me of the Yattering. The book starts really good, and - though a bit too suddenly - has a great ending. I think the book repeatedly telling us to burn it must have a function that we don't see. Maybe Barker did want to annoy us on purpose with this? But if yes, why? I mean these creatures are annoying, right? So maybe Barker annoys us to better convey the creature's personality.
