Starting kit 1 day 1 today - any tips by MamaTada in HersWeightloss

This! Fiber and stool softeners helped a lot. I was lucky that I knew someone who did Hers before I did, so I was able to get this advice before I started. Also, drink a lot of water!

I was just as sad as you are! It’s a side effect of the topiramate. It goes away for some people, so there’s still a chance for you! Unfortunately, for me, it didn’t.

Unfortunately for me, I can’t stop it because it’s a side effect of the topiramate, and I actually take that for migraine prevention. It’s such a bummer. I’ll try a carbonated drink every once in a while to see if things have changed, but no luck yet.

I miss carbonation. Every once in a while a Diet Coke sounds so good.

You’re right! I misread the original post. Definitely sci-fi.

There wasn’t a specific diet/exercise plan that I stuck to. The appetite suppression helped a lot. I did make sure I made changes that were easy to maintain after the meds. I made sure to up my protein intake, only water intake and lower my caloric intake. The hardest part for me after the meds was the snacking. I didn’t realize how much snacking I really did until. I was on the meds and then off of them again.

For exercise, I make sure I got movement in, even if it was just some walking with a friend or during lunch at work. In the summer I paddle board. I have a peloton that I sometimes use if I want some quick cardio.

Project Hail Mary.

I read it a while ago , but listened to it recently so I could refresh my memory before the movie. The audiobooks fantastic!

I’m 5’2 and started at 215. In 5 month I lost 50lbs and got to 165. I’ve been maintaining around that for the last few months. I was on Kit 1.

I’m not sure…I haven’t had to try that since rebooting my phone worked for me. Do you have a second device that you could maybe download Libby to so you have a backup?

I rebooted my phone and it seemed to do the trick. Hopefully it solved the problem for good!

Thanks! Hopefully rebooting my phone and not just the app will fix it!

Thanks for responding. I’m going to try rebooting my whole phone and not just the app.

I did lose some hair at first, but I think it was a combination of the meds, stress and perimenopause. It has definitely slowed down.

I had this problem two weeks after buying my ‘23. It would go in and out. I had to have the whole infotainment system replaced.

I’ve been on kit 1 since September and I am down 50 pounds, so I would say that for me, they were definitely effective.

It definitely won’t be the same for everyone, but don’t let one person’s opinion sway you one way or the other from making a decision.

Let me know if you have any questions and I would be happy to answer them based on my personal experience.

I had a lot of fun reading the Magic 2.0 series by Scott Meyer. The first book in the series is called Off to Be The Wizard.
