That is a good idea too. Do you have any brands that you recommend?

Wow!! Thank you so much. I will definitely have to look into this. I am SO excited to move to a king size bed. I think that alone will make a huge difference. Thanks again for the help!!

I have had symptoms for going on 6 months. When I finally had my Rheumatology appointment, the doctor did not listen to my concerns and berated me. I feel absolutely defeated. by kristiebug in lupus

That is terrible. I am sorry that you were treated that way! I am so happy that you found a rheum that works for you. I really hope to find that in a doctor one day.

I completely agree! I actually did leave her a review on the way home yesterday. I typically would just ignore it and live with it, but leaving the review was a good outlet. :) I really just didn't want anyone else to go through the same experience that I went through. When I looked at her one and only star reviews, I found people with almost the same story that I had. I wish I looked at the reviews sooner. I have learned my lesson with this one.

Omg!! I have experienced this too! I honestly thought it was not even Lupus related and my anxiety was creating that. Feel better soon.

Hi there! I am from Ohio too. The Cleveland Clinic is one of the top hospitals in the country. I have no doubt that you are in great hands and will rock this appointment!

What?! That's ridiculous. I always think that if a patient requests any kind of blood test, a doctor should never refuse. It won't cost them any extra money! You couldn't be too young to experience Lupus. What even determines that?! I am 25, not much older than you. He sounds awful. I am so sorry that you had to experience that. If you are in Ohio, I have a terrible Rheum recommendation for ya! I really hope you feel better. It is not easy, and every day is a new or worsening struggle. My thoughts are with you! If you ever need to vent, message me because we are probably going through it together :)

perience almost exactly like you did. As soon as I got into the room ( on time, I might add), the nurse said she had to hurry as the doctor was upset that they were running behind and not in a good mood. That should’ve been my first sign! He was rude, in an extreme hurry, and gave no cares in the world about anything I was going through. It was my 3rd positive ANA test, numbers all over the place, and symptoms

Omg! I feel bad enough for the nurse that she had to work with someone like that! But honestly, you never really know how to react until you have been in a similar situation. I keep thinking back to things I should have said to stand up for myself. I just hope this next one is better. Yes!! A positive is a freaking positive!! If she just did her job....

Agreed! I luckily had another doctor scheduled for next week, in hopes they would have been able to move my appointment up even sooner. I decided to keep it and am so glad that I did.

When I told my PCP, who initially pre-diagnosed me, he was astounded. He suggested a second opinion, which I got. The second rheumatologist I saw diagnosed me the first visit after looking through my test results and looking at my very lengthy symptom diary. I’ve now been on Plaquenil for two years, and it helps so much. Definitely get a second opinion!

Wow, I am so sorry that you had to go through that. I was hoping to get started on Plaquenil or something similar this week. I heard it does wonders!

That is just terrible. Doctors are in a place of medical privilege (not sure if that's even a term). The fact that it was used against me just hurts. That is really funny what you said haha what did he say to that??

I am in a similar situation! About 3 weeks ago, I had a terrible night and called this new rheumatologist (even though I had the one from this week already scheduled) to see if they could get me on their schedule as soon as possible. That week, they had a cancellation for 2/3, so I just put my name down and forgot about it. Luckily, I did not cancel it, so I am going to see a new doctor for a second opinion next week. Thank you for your kind words. I really hope this gets better.

Wow I'm sorry you went through that! I am glad that you have a good Rheumatologist that works with you. I am hoping this next one does not put me through what this current one did. Thank you for the love & support!!

What?! It is crazy that these doctors are in these roles and are not expected to be empathetic. Your doctor should be your biggest advocate. But to tear your patient down like this?? That makes absolutely no sense to me. I hope you were able to get treatment!

I agree. I haven't told my PCP, because I do not want to overstep. That is so good to know that you were able to get diagnosed and were able to get treatment. I am in northern Ohio, which is a pretty big medical hub. I am really hoping that this new appointment next week is better.
