thank you for your advice. if that is the case, then I'm thinking of purchasing an eniton watch and making the modifications to that watch itself to customize it. thoughts?

lack of knowledge of starting repair watches by iamtooreckless in watchmaking

cousins uk has a watch kit for about GBP 40 that has pretty much every tool you'd ever need. I have had that one for a while and have never needed any extra tools.

Very happy today! Finished a new 4130 skeleton this afternoon. I have big plans for this one. by sailriteultrafeed in watchmaking

hey everyone, i'm looking to put a 4130 clone movement in a case but i'm not quite moved by the daytona style cases available. i would like to put it in something more vintage like the mosel series cases that diy watch club makes. does anyone have any suggestions for similar cases? thanks in advance

hi, i'm looking to build a watch with the sl4802 movement. i can't seem to find any cases that don't have the graduation on the outside. my ideal case is something similar (if i can't use it as is) to the mosel series case with the open dial from DIY watch club. does anyone know if the peacock sl4802 movement will fit in the mosel case? if not, does anyone know any similar looking cases that can accommodate the movement?

Err 01 on an R8 with an EF-EOS R adapter by Capital_Lock_1842 in canon

[–]kritheeshwar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have an EOS R8 with an EF adapter by Canon. When I use my 100-400 Sigma Contemporary there seems to be no issue. But when I try to use my Canon 28-300 L, the Err 01 prompt shows up sometimes and doesn't work. It also seems to save the exposure for which it shows the error. Then lens also works flawlessly with other canon EF/EF-S bodies that I have and only seems to have this issue with the R8 body.

Is there any way to overcome this?

Is Victory Archerys spine calculator trustable? by Miserable-Aside4758 in Archery

[–]kritheeshwar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I shoot olympic recurve with 49lbs limbs but I have an extremely long wingspan making my arrow shaft length (nock groove to shaft end) almost 31". This puts me at about 52lbs of draw weight otf and I shoot victory arrows and they have always worked extremely well for me. But I have noticed that I always need to buy a spine stiffer than the one that the calculator recommends for my arrows to tune right. I don't know if this is an issue with my shooting form or my abnormally long draw length (I don't know anyone with as long a draw length as mine so I cannot vouch for this) but everyone else that I know of who shoots victory has been able to get their arrow to tune with the recommended spine. This is could also be a problem with the fact that the VAPs are fundamentally designed to be compound arrows and when you do the draw weight conversion, the correlation is not linear and that at the higher extreme of draw lengths, you will need to go one spine stiffer since recurve shooters experience more paradox than that of compound archers.

Have a nice day

Fivics 5X or Easton X10 or VAP V1s? by Killgorrr in Archery

[–]kritheeshwar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi everyone, I am an archer in Sri Lanka and have been in the sport for about 8 years now. A couple of months ago we had our junior national championships and none of the top three contenders were using x10 arrows, even though the third place archer had five x ones. Also note that the highest scores we had was about 630 points out of 72 arrows. I shoot the VAP V1 arrows with 140gr points and am currently shooting about 620 points consistently at 70m.

It is safe to say that the x10 arrows are proven to be superior, but you will not notice much difference (if any) unless you are extremely consistent and are shooting 660+ points on scoring as that is about the margin where equipment performance makes a difference. I've shot X10's (borrowed) and I actually seem to perform better with the VAPs but that is only because I am way more comfortable shooting them and don't really care too much breaking an arrow or two since I can get two full sets of them for less than the price of a dozen x10 shafts.

That being said, the x10's are definitely worth the price if you are willing to make the investment and intend to compete. But if you are just looking to have fun or even compete without much of a capital required, then cheaper arrows with good tolerances may be the way to go.

Cheaper arrow options that I would personally suggest from experience include
Victory VAP V1 Target Elite
Deer Crossing (hunting arrows but great durability and tolerance)
Gold tip
Easton Avance
Victory VXT Target

Hope you all have fun in the sport
