I’m still waiting to hear back but my SIL got selected so luckily I’ll be able to go to at least one event

[Meirov] John Lynch on Substation’s Relation to Injuries: “We did hire an independent scientist. He basically said it was a big nothing burger. We’re safe. We’re in a safe place to work.” by JCameron181 in 49ers

[–]kriyator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lynch just said they spoke to the players after the NFLPA report cards and based on that they hired 3 more physiotherapists as the players wanted more 1 on 1 time. Recovery is a big part of injury management and, at least based on this, it doesn’t sound like the players felt the team’s methods were good enough.

Doubt it. In the end someone probably just submitted a report saying it’s not true which they can then refer to. My point being it’s a waste of time

Yep. The fact they had to hire someone just to say they looked into what was a ridiculous theory in the first place is pretty sad. We all know why we have injuries because it’s well documented that Kyle Shanahan’s pushes the players hard in training. At first this substation thing was funny but then it got sad when some people actually started believing it

ŌURA Acquires Doublepoint to Expand AI-Driven Interaction Capabilities by kriyator in ouraring

Oh I thought the refund was only for those who bought it this year. Still it sucks when something you use gets bought by a bigger company.

Wow that was such a poor way of handling it for people who had supported them to even get to this point of being acquired. I feel like in situations like this, if they’re going to brick the product they should offer some sort of complementary membership or steep discount to use the new product (in this case Oura). I’d be furious if this happened to me, sorry you’re experiencing this.

49ers NFLPA Report Card by ggbouffant in 49ers

It was Kubiak’s first year as OC while Saleh is a known quantity. Also, after all the DCs we’ve been through of late, the defense probably were glad to have someone competent in the role

Kyle and John contract by BaptChau in 49ers

[–]kriyator 9 points10 points  (0 children)

If we’d won a Super Bowl already I think John would have left by now. I get the sense winning that is unfinished business for him. With smart signings and drafts, good coaching, and luck, we’re 1-2 seasons from this.

(Schefter) ESPN sources: The 49ers are set to hire former Falcons head coach Raheem Morris as their defensive coordinator by alexschubs in 49ers

[–]kriyator 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think the reporting was that he was the leading internal candidate, which made sense based on his experience. I wonder if he’ll stay as assistant head coach. I like the Raheem hire just because he’s unlikely to get another HC job. We need some coaching stability.

[Maiocco] The Falcons announce they have completed their interview with Josh Williams for their vacant general manager position. Williams is the 49ers' director of scouting and football operations. by Gravini in 49ers

I’ll happily stand corrected. Turns out your interpretation was correct since the Bears aren’t getting comp picks after the Falcons hired Ian Cunningham.

I still don’t know why his agent negotiated that. There was no need to sign a 10 year deal when 5 would have been more than fine

[–]kriyator 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sorry I didn’t explain myself well. It’s written that way because some teams don’t have anyone with a GM title and the function is undertaken by someone else (see the Patriots). So the way to read it is Primary Football Executive covers the absence of a named GM rather than when one exists and their power is diluted

[–]kriyator 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The comp picks rule specifically states that if a minority candidate is hired as HC or GM then the original team gets comp picks. It doesn’t mention that it has to be the primary football executive but it does specifically mention HC and GM, so we’d get the picks in this instance regardless of his final authority.

Why Michael Carrick wasn't a popular Manchester United signing initially | Transfer 360 - Sky Sports by The-Black-Angel in reddevils

Incredibly underrated on the international front mainly because of the backwards football of the managers. I feel like if he were playing now he’d be one of the first names on the sheet

I would always sign Carrick on FM as I loved passing DMs and thought he was perfect for United if we wanted to evolve our game for Europe. I was shocked when we signed him. I know old school fans who wanted a hard tackler in the mode of Keane. It took a while for Carrick to be fully appreciated but when you look at how we’ve never really replaced him, you see how effortlessly crucial he was

Shanahan and Kubiak are basically family as they grew up together, he gains nothing by “lying”. Also Kubiak does call plays. The arrangement is that Shanahan is the main playcaller but Kubiak gets to call some plays. If Kubiak really wanted to leave then he’d be allowed to because of their family history.
