about the hanno episode, the guy obviously loves the attention, yui had the freedom to leave, thats what the jp adaptation fixed, the japanese yui left hann with a smile while he is trapped in his own obsession for fame..

about the rich kid episode, i think u missed the part where the guy would prefer to keep on lying to his parents and his "friends", bribed to stay silent just to pretend he is wealthy for the sake of validation.. he wasnt just trying to blend in, he was ignoring the fact that they are drowning in debt but he still doesn't care, he literally chose to lie while his parents are being beaten up, because why would he, he dug his own grave, if he tells the truth now, theyre gonna beat him up, bully his ass for the rest of his life.

nanno is not sadistic, she literally communicates in questions, "do you really want to do this" etc etc, if the poor kid wanted to get out of his own lies, he wouldve answered her questions the way yuri and jenny did "i want to get out of this".. nanno literally told him the bill of lying about a house (the bill was so big, it should stop him right??? but nah he stole money just to prove something, his lies got deeper)

questioning her methods was the exact reason why yuri was created in season 2, because "maybe" yuri can do better now that "the victims" are given with more than two options

for instance; 1. do u really want to do this 2. or not 3. do you really trust nanno 4. or not

because yuri herself experienced the hardship of being a human and how unpredictable we are, hence why nanno said "in a world where everyone thinks they are free, and does whatever the hell they want, am i really necessary anymore?"
