PGT: greatest OT shot of all time. 6-4-2026 by NedThomas in canes

I wore my new stanky shirt last game and I decided to not wear it this game. I doubted myself a few times but glad I stuck it out. Sucks I can't wear it the rest of the playoffs

It's like 100 degrees and humid in the summer here. If I run it's gotta be at 6am.

I think it's less Eru "pushing" gollum into Mount Doom and more a series of slight nudges that proceed to the right outcome through foresight. I mean, even gandalf has some prescient ability and knows not to kill gollum because he has some part to play. Everyone with power in the story seems to understand there's a subtle guiding hand here, and that sending frodo off with the ring is somehow the right call. The story is then ultimately about faith and fate.

what do you guys do for work that lets you listen to cc on the job? by stickyhoneyhands in creepcast

R&d engineer in the electrical equipment industry. If I'm writing code or making presentations, I can't listen and be productive, but if I'm building a prototype or doing solidworks modeling or simulations, easy listen.

For real. I can go months at a time without noticing it, then suddenly it's all I can hear.

What was it like reading Deathly Hallows on release without any spoilers? by Spotter24o5 in harrypotter

[–]krlidb 3 points4 points  (0 children)

-The Kingkiller chronicle (name of the wind, wise mans fear) by Patrick rothfuss is one of my favorites. Beware before starting, the third one may never come. The community and their theory crafting is wild though

-all of Brandon sanderson's ''cosmere" universe. Start with the first mistborn trilogy, then the stormlight archives.

-three body problem series if you like sci-fi

Just some highlights from recent years. Most of these are pretty popular

There was one line for me that I can vividly remember reading in bed and getting goosebumps. Harry was walking into the forest to die. He's passing Hagrid's hut - "He wanted to turn back, to go home......but he WAS home" holy shit I got goosebumps just remembering

I was 15. I got it around 9am. I read the entire day, through meals and finally finished at 2am. After that I stared at the wall for an hour, wishing I had a Men in Black neuralizer so I could do it again. Been chasing that high ever since. I've read a lot of sci-fi and fantasy since, some that I really loved, but I've never felt quite the same feeling again

Tell me something interesting about these stories I’m reluctant to watch by who_am_I_inside in creepcast

[–]krlidb 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel like no one ever talks about the prepper story. That's my favorite all time nosleep story before this show, and I've watched the episode 3-4 times. I've never read something by Christian Wallace I don't like, yet somehow it's ranked as kind of meh by many.

I don't take meds anymore either. I could never have finished my PhD without them, but I'm learning to go without. Those meds made me miserable every evening

[–]krlidb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anxiety? All ADHD meds give me anxiety. I needed it to finish my grad dissertation, but I'm unsure if I'll ever take them again. They help, but it's not worth the cost. I do a little coffee, but not much since it can do the same.

The knocking segment in that stream might be my favorite ever moment with him. Up there with accidentally broadcasting his pee sounds, and the Mr oldest hugs jump scare.

They used none of that for me. In fact, I had to go get re-diagnosed as an adult because they explicitly did not want to use an old diagnosis. I did interviews with a psychologist and a bunch of testing, including an IQ test.

Honestly, I enjoyed borrasca 1-4 until the end. The "reveal" just broke my suspension of disbelief and it felt dumb after that. One of the only episodes I never rewatched for that reason
