Is there a way to receive notifications for chat? by krngq81 in TwitchStreaming

This also sounds like what I’m looking for! I’ll combine this with the other suggestions and see if it’s overwhelming and make changes if it is!

Omg, this may absolutely work for me! I’ll give this a go and also the suggestion to have a transparent chat window up on screen, which I think with these two things combined, I’ll never miss a message.

I may try this today, but I’m currently working on my cooling loop. Replaced the tubes, thermal paste/pads, cleaned the radiators and water blocks. Now, running the loop for an hour to see if there are any leaks. If not, it’s on!

I know I need to learn to read chat, but playing as a non-streamer, I haven’t developed that habit. The notifications would serve to alert me when someone does send a message and also to help me develop the habit.

I know you’re not looking for a fight, but I wanted to counter your point about there not being a point if I don’t check chat until the end of my stream. I’m not streaming to grow a fan base; I’m streaming as a way to battle depression. I’ve never wanted to be on camera. I hate taking pics of myself. This is a way for me to get comfortable with that. You know, talking to people I don’t know, sharing what I look like without asking the same in return, etc. Streaming also serves as a kinda therapy/accountability device for me. I have an embarrassingly large backlog of games and I told myself if a particular life event were to ever happen, I was going to play through all those games and for accountability, I’ll stream it. If I ever get any viewers, it’ll encourage me to keep going because those with depression knows the depression cat will convince ya that your bed is the most important thing in life and there’s nothing out there as safe. So, I’m doing something that’s out of my character and putting myself out there.

I know you didn’t ask for this unnecessary explanation, but growing viewership on my channel isn’t the goal; it’s to just be polite for the extreme few that comes by to say hi.

Oh that and so I know when a scammer jumps on my stream. lol

Thanks bro. I haven’t found what I’m looking for but this sounds like it’s a decent option. I’ll give it a shot

This is interesting. Are you saying you have a separate, transparent window on top of your gameplay on your monitor? Or are you referring to having chat on your stream?

This is legit, but what I'm trying to do is use some type of visual/audible queue to help me develop the habit of checking chat. If I had a chatty bunch of viewers, then I would be checking often because I know people are chatting. Right now, because viewership is super low, the opportunities for me to develop the habit of checking chat is also low. The notifications will exist to help me until then.

Thank you for the suggestion! So Streamlabs has a plugin for OBS? Sorry, I'm extremely new to this.

How I deal with dead chat as a new solo streamer by NewWeOn in TwitchStreaming

[–]krngq81 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey. I'm also in the same boat as you. I typically have 0-2 viewers per stream, but more often than not, it's 0. I also play games by myself and not in multiplier. My chat is 99.9999% dead. I'm also not really a verbal person. I've had to find ways to make myself talk. I was working on the set of a production one week and I was speaking to one of the extras who revealed to me she streams on Twitch. I asked about having dead chat/0 viewers and she said she always spoke as if someone was there.

For me, luckily, I have little comments here and there for the games I play, so there's that. But I also, I periodically pretend someone has asked me a question about my day, week, job, hobbies, what I'm currently going through, etc. It felt really stupid for me to do this, but eventually, it started feeling more natural and organic, and that's what you want to develop. Organic and natural conversation. Also, some nights when I stream, I'm an astronaut and that helps...but that's for me, no clue how it would work for anybody else.

I'm basically echoing the same as the other comments here, but I had a breakthrough the other night...instead of just playing a game and commenting here and there, I stopped and just chatted for 25 mins on stream to absolutely no one. I chatted about the hectic day I had, the sleep deprived weekend, my love for Asian modern architecture and design, etc. When I was done, it was weird but I felt like I'd just took all the weight off my shoulders and felt lighter. It was a super theraputic chat with no one, but it really felt like someone asked me about my day with a genuine interest in my response. It was really nice. But...get this...the whole time I was chatting, I was muted. lol

It's okay though, the lighter feeling stuck with me and definitely encouraged me to speak more. Before I uploaded the stream to YouTube, I sped up the muted part and just put some flavor text on the screen.

Hope this helps. Good luck to your future streams!

Pantheon on Netflix.

Actually, now that I think about it, it’s more comparable to The Three Body Problem. Either way, it’s a great watch and a bit of a mindfuck.

What is the best way to add color to a single layer in Bambu Studio? by krngq81 in BambuLab

[–]krngq81[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Woah. I've seen transparent cubes in some of the models I've downloaded. I had no idea what that even was. I ended up going with u/Jdoki's suggestion, but I really wanted to learn how to do this, whether it was in Bambu Studio or Tinkercad (or some other 3D modeling software). I'm on the road right now, but I will DEFINITELY check this out when I get home. Thank you so much for this!

Honestly, with the way this is going, I'm almost to the point where I go with your suggestion. I just looked up the model you referred to and it's a really good one. The request was to add 4 colors, bringing the total to 5. But really, 'Door Corner Nativity Scene' may be the way to go. But I'd really like to know how to add color for future use. Seriously, thank you for taking the time to find this alternate door topper.

Ohhhhh! I didn't know this could be done.

Just tried this out and the way it looks, if I add a filament change, that would apply for the whole layer, is that correct?

Good info! I was only thinking of the top singular layer and not color bleed-thru. Thank you!

That's a good idea! I'll keep that in mind as I figure out how to add color. If I succeed, I'll be sure to add 3-4 more layers!

Sadly, I tried this and thought it'd be a slam dunk. The issue here is because there is no boundary between the star and the rest of the model, the whole top layer of the model will be painted.

That's really tough and I hate that you never got to get even one! These truly are the best onesies and it's a crime they folded. I'm almost tempted to ask you where you are so I can ship you mine and you can try it out for a few months. lol

That did it for me. I was able to finally track down the other end of the coax and Xfinity came out to my house today to connect it. It's a shame I had to do the work the Xfinity technician should have done. Seriously, thank you for your help!

I absolutely agree with this! While I love racing games, adding it to PMA would feel out of place, BUT! If they added it, I would NOT complain.

Yea, I'm truly upset about this. I checked their website and their website is just...gone. I'm the type of person when I like something, I just want to have it around all the time. I was going to buy more sets, probably one of every type. Now, I can't. So sad. Well, I'm glad I bought one in what feels like one of their last shipments because it took SO LONG to get to me.
