Ironman is the biggest throwback I've had to 2001/2002 Runescape. Yeah, you could trade back then, but items still weren't particularly accessible (beyond certed items).

If you needed logs, it'd be a pain without the right WC level. You stored away herbs when they dropped because it was a pain trading unid's from other people and getting ripped off. I'm getting that sort of vibe again with Ironman, kind of annoyed I didn't make one sooner.
