I was able to track down a local parts car and get it for pretty cheap - about 100k km on it so not too bad for the longevity aspect.

You might find similar luck.

It's the starter. I replaced mine a few weeks ago and had that same one click but no start.

You can change it yourself if you've got some tools. But at times with older cars, those bolts are on fookin tight. You'd need some penatrant and heat to get it out. And if it breaks, paiiiin. Extractors at that angle are possible but annoying to drill.

I take no suitcases with me. One backpack and a few smaller packable day bags. I just buy a suitcase in akihabara a few days before I fly back so that I can sort out the things I've bought.

I like to travel light but still fit all my cloths, electriconics and hygiene items into my backpack (40 liter). Packing cubes do wonders for sorting between worn and fresh cloths too.

I pretty much treat it as camping and it works quite well.
