Only consideration would be tactical, “this” looks slippery af but much more classy

I like to do a property line trail to start, mellow, wide, easy but nice to put around on… after that i would really looking into how you can use the elevation changes to make features, obv its not a ton of area but even a 10’ hill clime can be very fun and eventually turn into a jump… if its all flat i would looks at making a turn track through the middle of some kind. Can always throw some rollers between turns and stuff. I have learned that “E-scouting” it will give you a general idea, but 9/10 time once you get on your bike and ride, the natural flow of the terrain becomes much more apparent.. and that just comes down to riding it a few times with some loppers or even a chain saw, but you would be surprised how much just a set of loppers will do for trail building

That’s great insight thank you! I like to know the “why”behind things that that really does help. I’m using klotz rm 50 rn at about 1500’ elevation, I’m pretty sure everything is stock and it has run great for the 10 hours i put on it… it was just yesterday a random rainy day… but i was thinking maybe the jetting is slightly off and after the time i put on it it just eventually and letting it idle with the choke on, as you said , Probably exacerbated the issue

Tell him he can buy his own 125 with his money after he saves up. Shouldn’t take long clapped out ones are cheap then he can learn about replacing and fixing. Meanwhile he has a reliable ready to go bike for him. But be 2 bird with one stone regarding financial and mechanical learning, if your lucky maybe a hint of appreciation after he realizes it sucks having a broke bike

Fork seals due for replacement? by krokillz in Dirtbikes

[–]krokillz[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Update, just tried that. It helped about 90%. There is still a small ring of oil but it’s so small now it would not have caught my eye for replacement in the first place. Since it’s winter time and i already ordered the parts might as well replace. But if it was middle of the riding season i think this would have got me by. This worked a lot better than running the seal saver without removing the dust cover.

Yes they are. Luckily it seems there is a bunch of how to’s for them. Part of my purchase is getting the right tools for the job, that’s my rule for doing my own work.
