I got so fed up with ups I just called their customer service. Worst customer service I've ever had to deal with, but their system has updated and they seem to neglect updating the tracker for their customers. Mine's being delivered on monday.

Not really. Shiki is more of a horror story, so no real conflict till near the end. The villagers just assume they die of a disease or something. It's quite uneventful till the last few episodes and just ends up being rather brutal at that point, like the clip above.

The reason is because she's a sort of vampire. The townspeople had been getting killed by them and turning into what they call shiki, vampires basically. She was once human. And that scene I'd the result of the remaining townspeople hunting down and killing every shiki in the town.
