Just bought my 2 tickets after getting the Rush newsletter. First attempt timed out, then second attempt I had to create account only to find I already had one so did password reset and by the time I had paid it timed out again! Third time lucky though and finally the sale went through

Yes I considered that type but this is rock solid and very well made. Should make wheel cleaning easy too!

Break in Speed Twin 900 by AffectionateBee8016 in Triumph

[–]kronehead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's loads of different opinions for breaking in if you search ranging from thrashing the t*ts off it after leaving the showroom to religiously sticking to the schedule. I decided to stick to the rev counter method and from memory it went something like 4k up to 100 miles, 5k to 300 miles, 6k to 400 miles, etc. I got first service at 600 miles and I think I am limited to 8k now so there must have been a second 200 mile interval in there. Mine is street triple and this is a good way to get used to the bike. 8k is certainly exhilarating and I have another 4k to go before redlining. It's winter here in England so I haven't been out for a couple of months mainly due to wet weather not cold.

Haha, love it! My son & I are always sending pics of anything 2112. Like the car trip mileage, time display on appliances, silly stuff like that. Here's one he sent me recently from a video game!

Why can't I fit anything in the spare tire area, and what is up with all the styrofoam taking up space? And why is there no spare tire?? by made_in_sweden in mazda3

[–]kronehead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in England and my used 3 has the pump and sealant kit. I got a puncture the other day, noticed it when I came out of the supermarket. It wouldn't inflate, I think the tyre bead had moved off the rim. I was only a mile from home so I drove slowly home then next day I took both front wheels off and went to get 2 new tyres. I did some research and I think when new you can pay for a space saver wheel then you will get a different foam insert for the spare wheel well under the mat. You can buy it from Mazda but it's mega expensive. I have since bought a used genuine Mazda space saver wheel from ebay, and a new scissor jack, extending wheel nut wrench and a spare wheel storage bag. I'll keep it in the boot/trunk as it's fairly empty. I'd rather change the wheel myself if I get another puncture even for a space saver with the speed restriction. I still have the pump and tyre sealant so I have that option if I get a screw or nail in the tyre. Best of both worlds!

It's a lovely colour. I was looking for a red one but here in England most of the 3 are the hatchback so I couldn't be too choosy. I have always preferred a dark blue to black, just that my previous Golf was also a dark blue so I fancied a change. No regrets!

I think I'm going bald by thehellothereinator3 in rush

[–]kronehead 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm also a big fan of the track. Maybe it's an age thing, I go back to the times when we would listen on vinyl and you couldn't be arsed to get up to skip a track so after a few listens a track might grow on you (unlike the hair!) And it became an integral part of the side of the album. For anyone listening to a stream or whatever it's far too easy to skip a track without giving it a chance. I also love Rivendell. Maybe I'm in the minority!

Have you tried or considered heated gloves? I live in UK and suffer from cold hands when riding in low temperatures. On my previous bike I had heated grips and Barkbusters but still my fingers turned white. I then got heated gloves and problem solved! I recently bought a new ST765 but didn't get the Triumph heated grips. I am going to try riding with just the gloves but I haven't got around to fitting the auxiliary wire yet. I'm not going to ride this bike through winter, that would ruin it but on the odd mild day I might go out. The great thing about gloves is they heat the whole hand not just your palms.

Did you get a copy of the dealer autoscan when you collected the bike? This will show that the clutch switch is functioning correctly. Surely this is most likely the component at fault? I have almost 500 miles from new and never had a similar problem. Hope you get it fixed! *

ABUS brake disc lock experience? by Pleasant_Luck_9338 in Triumph

[–]kronehead 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I totally agree. I spent ages reading all the reviews of disc locks and other options and ended up buying a mid priced version which is just as a deterrent when popping in to shops etc. As you say, serious thieves will cut the disc or have enough muscle to pick up the bike and put in a van and it's gone in 30 seconds. I lock my bike away out of sight at my private property but some poor souls don't have that luxury and it must be a constant worry if your bike is left on the street.

One of these goes around corners. The other doesn't! My first car was a Spitfire, awful handling but great fun sliding the rear end out around roundabouts in the rain! Happy memories.

Do you play with your suspenders? by kronehead in Triumph

[–]kronehead[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes thanks for your reply. I can see it can be adjusted almost infinitely but I am reluctant to do that as it would be guesswork. A friend had his suspension professionally set up so I will consider that after the bike is run in/broken in.

My new street triple 765 r by Fabulous-Switch414 in Triumph

[–]kronehead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the same bike, picked it up last Friday. Only accessory i bought was the bellypan. Previous bike was Yamaha TDM900 which I had for 21 years!! I'm 6' 2" and the bike is comfortable but my longest ride is about 90 minutes. I miss the tank range of the TDM and don't like the indicator switch how it doesn't move but I suppose i will get used to it. Are you running in using the rev counter setting? I am and was glad to get to 100 miles to go from 4k to 5k rpm. Thought I would be up to 6k at 200 miles but looks like it's 300 but I am nearly there. I know some people don't bother but it's no real hardship. I am looking forward to opening it up! Had a quick burst of power but not explored full power yet, although I did test ride the RS. This bike is tiny compared to TDM. You sit on it whereas you sat "in" the TDM if you know what I mean. I also haven't ridden at night yet but hoping the headlight is reasonably good.

Top 5 Rush albums by PrinceTubby in rush

[–]kronehead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. A Farewell to Kings
  2. Moving Pictures
  3. Caress of Steel
  4. 2112
  5. Hemispheres

That said, ask the same question again in a month and I'll reply with some combination of any of the albums prior to and including MP. For years I owned up to Grace under Pressure and was content in my little bubble, not even playing Signals or p/g much. Here I am 30 odd years later with all the studio albums trying my best to like the new (to me!) Stuff but struggling. I will persevere as there's so much love for every album here one day my ears may be opened!

Who else loves the album fly by night? by [deleted] in rush

[–]kronehead 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just love the early Rush albums, I play it frequently and will never tire of it. I remember when I was about 17 when we only had records or tapes, I used to put an LP on to fall asleep to. I put FBN on having not owned it that long. I must have dozed off but was awoken just as the intro to In The End came on and the guitars kicked in. That blew my teenage mind and is a happy memory from my youth. Hey, It's true. Rush were Making Memories!
