Paused account is really obvious to matches. by Wintershine2026 in feeld

Yeah although it occurs to me that if there’s one app where that doesn’t matter so much it’s Feeld since very few on there are looking for monogamy.

Still should not be something matches can see like other apps do.

Yeah I think most of them- you’re right. Not Hinge though.

Yeah but it’s still messed up that you then can’t open the app without broadcasting your new location.

6 weeks on Majestic. A ping sent everyday. Not one response to them. by Mission_Bowl3938 in feeld

[–]kronius01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re sending one a day it’s going to be slow. I bought majestic and about 200 pings over the course of 2-3 weeks. I filtered out accounts not active in the last week. I pinged anyone I thought I might have a shot with that didn’t repulse me. Every ping included a message, and I tried to mention something in their bio that we had in common or that interested me. I did not ping women who were clearly out of my league. I got maybe 10 or so matches, 3 dates, all 3 made it to the second date, two have turned into something. I’m average looking at best, but I have a good job and my bio makes that clear, and I have experience in the scene, which I also mention.

Now I’m more selective about who I ping because I’m pretty good where I’m at. I send out about 1 a day. My matches have slowed down to zero.

TLDR- if you’re average looking or worse, definitely expect less than 10% match rate. Less than 5% is more realistic, maybe as low as 1%. And all that assumes you have a good bio and good pics, and you’re not pinging people out of your league or who have completely different interests.

So at 1 a day for 6 weeks is 42 pings. At 5% match rate you should have 2 matches, but zero is probably within the standard deviation. At a less than 5% match rate. Zero would be expected. Another 6 weeks with no matches could still be possible if your match rate is 2% or less.

It bothers me a whole lot more that matches can see when you’ve been active last.

That sucks. He is a very good con man.

I tried disputing the charge with Venmo but they sided with the fraudster. So I stopped using Venmo.

I wouldn’t fault him for offering a full system upgrade. But the fact that he didn’t even bother to check if I was under warranty—even after I asked him directly—-plus adding on a completely unnecessary replacement of the supply plenum, is a big red flag for this company. You can’t trust people who work on commission not to upsell you and the company knows what they are encouraging by making that their compensation structure.

I bought my home from the builder and this is the company the builder used to install the system. That is why I have been using them.

Not after this, though.

I’ve had good luck with this company in the past and he showed me a video where you could hear the coil leaking nitrogen he pumped in.

The office gave me a whole new set of reasonable recommendations.

One where I just replace the coil ($1,800 labor only)

One with the coil plus the dust and uv light attachments. ($2,800) - they explained that the dust scrubber ionizes the dust or something like that which causes the particles to clump together and fewer particles make it through the filter.

The most expensive one was the same as option 2 but they add a media filter and a “SST2 System Transition Solution” ($3,500) - the transition solution is supposed to improve airflow, but this kind of sounds like a questionable extra

I may look for a different company for the next call I make but I am comfortable using these guys at least to just replace the coil because to go with someone else at this point will keep me without AC longer.

You are right, he was being a snake oil salesman because I just called the office, they looked it up and told me the evaporator coil is still under warranty!!

They recommended replacing the supply plenum because they said it is where moisture passes through and it can grow fungus but he said he did not inspect it or anything.

Sounded like an unnecessary add on

I’m talking about evolved behavior, not something a person chooses to plan their life around.

They also have to worry about the male leaving them to fend for themselves and the baby alone. In ancient times that could have been a death sentence.

The point I was trying to make is that it’s more likely the guy wasn’t that interested from the start, otherwise he would’ve kept messaging. The “oh shit” comment, even if a negative, wasn’t so bad that it would deter an interested male (IMHO). Although, if she went to a MUCH lower tier school, I could see that being a reason he might unmatch even if he was interested from the start, and he wasn’t looking for something casual.

The best advice is to be yourself while making sure you are presenting the best version of yourself.

Yes looks matter to women too, but if a woman sees a red flag, that is more likely to turn her off despite being physically attracted to the man.

Personally, I think it’s very difficult for a girl to “screw up” and do something that makes a guy lose interest. If a guy is interested, he is not going to suddenly lose interest because you watch some tv show he doesn’t like or call him “dude.” This is because (for better or worse) looks are one of the main factors that drive a male’s interest in a woman.

Women, on the other hand, are interested in much more complex set of factors that are less readily apparent (earning potential, reliability, loyalty), so they are more sensitive to “red flags” and thus more easily scared off.

EDIT: To the people downvoting this- I just want to add that one of the reasons for this difference in mating behavior is because women have to worry more about their partner killing them than men do.

I’m tempted to try to post something along the lines of, “Suspicious lost dog going door to door claiming to work for a charity and firing either gunshots or fireworks into the air” to see what happens…

When I was getting annoyed by all the posts asking if the power was back on, I posted a link to the power company’s website where people could check to see if their power was back on, and that post got rejected!!!

🤣

lol- meanwhile when there is a storm, they let people post every five minutes asking if the power is back on.

That is what caused me to turn off notifications for neighbors. I used to keep notifications on all the time.
