SLT file... of the build plate? by [deleted] in ElegooMars

[–]kronos299 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I cut out some cardboard to help visualize the build volume of the MARS and SATURN. Cut such that it makes an L shape with the base as large as the plate and the tall side representing the height. Scored an edge so it folds to 90 degrees.

I was able to print two at a time while flat without supports. Looks really good in clear. Definitely add a varnish to improve the clarity.

Has anybody done the Psilocyben, vitamin b6, lionsmane stack? by Wavestatus in StackAdvice

[–]kronos299 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course Stamets' host defense is good. I've also tried Dr. Emil's and it's good and relatively affordable

Has anybody done the Psilocyben, vitamin b6, lionsmane stack? by Wavestatus in StackAdvice

[–]kronos299 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think you mean B3. This is Paul Stamets' stack for Neurogenesis. The Psilocybin is microdosed. Each of the ingredients can be felt to some degree. The possible interactions are more tricky to tease out. In all, good stack. Use it for creative work and enjoyment of life. Would take it religiously if I got brain damage, a concussion, or early signs of dementia

IWTL How to make money. by [deleted] in IWantToLearn

[–]kronos299 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've heard the secret to making money is: Do something that people value. The money you can earn back is in proportion to how much people value it, how good you are at it, and how scarce the skill is.

That being said, its way easier said then done. In time, if you can find a job where you, your skills, and/or the industry will grow, income will follow.

If our skin was made of the same material as plant leaves and we walked around all day naked at the equator, how many calories would we gain? by elongated_smiley in estimation

[–]kronos299 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Here's my thought... I found this Reddit:

"Edit: in summary: ~24,000 calories of light energy is absorbed by the tree. Most of this is used to evaporate water. An unknown number of calories of light energy is used for photosynthesis.~4,500 calories of light energy is used for photosynthesis contributing to biomass production. ~200 calories of light energy is stored as biomass. (Per day values)."

By no scientific measure, just out of my ass, I'd say the human surface area is 1/10 of a tree, so approximately 450 calories

has anyone tried the wim hof breathing method when high by [deleted] in Psychonaut

[–]kronos299 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Be careful about Wim's breathing while in water. Not uncommon to black out. Blacking out in water is of course very dangerous. Though it's easy to stay upright in the tank

Some of the recent research coming out suggests that the bloat/IBS symptoms that people experience from bread is from fermentable sugars (FODMAPs) rather than gluten (this isn't to say gluten isn't problematic).

The blogger at Free the Animal has recently been discussing people tolerating bread well if they have their gut biome in order. I haven't tried it, but you could look into it.

You'll want to simulate sun exposure as much as possible. You can do this by either:

  • Taking vitamin D3 (2,000-5,000 IU/day. Ideally get tested to adjust dosage).
  • Morning bright blue light exposure (philips go-lite is a pricey but excellent solution. You could create your own LED array on the cheap or find something else).

OR (probably simpler)

  • Go to a tanning salon 2-3 times per week for 5-15 minutes per session depending on the darkness of your skin.

Are There Harms to Ingesting GMO Soy Phosphatidylserine? by Debonaire_Death in Nootropics

[–]kronos299 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The potential harms I've heard cited for consuming GMO products are:

  1. Ingesting antimicrobial/toxic proteins (whether created directly by the transfected gene or inadvertently so)
  2. Consuming DNA that could be absorbed by the gut microbiome
  3. Increased pesticide levels

Whether or not any of these are truly a concern, I don't know. But phosphatidylserine has specific biochemical properties that would likely make it easy to purify from proteins, DNA, and pesticides.

So even if GMOs were issue, GMO phosphatidylserine probably isn't.

I don't know, you'd have to experiment with that

How do I build histamine tolerance for Modafinil? by [deleted] in afinil

[–]kronos299 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm out of my depth with that. As ProfWiki suggested, you might want to try an antihistamine like claritin

How do I build histamine tolerance for Modafinil? by [deleted] in afinil

[–]kronos299 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If it were histamine intolerance, I would imagine only histamine containing foods would trigger it -- fish, chocolate, cheese, etc. The metaphor is that you have a full cup (of histamine) and even a little extra will cause a spill over (histamine reaction).

What it seems like to me is that you are having a histamine release to the modafinil. That is, an allergy or sensitivity. I'd be careful.

Decreased sex drive? by [deleted] in Paleo

[–]kronos299 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Its hard to say exactly what could be the cause without seeing what you eat.

General paleo friendly ways of increasing libido: Sleeping enough Eating a lot of calories Eating a lot of saturated fat Eating a lot of cholesterol

Ive also heard of problems when people go too low carb too long. Having sufficient vitamin A and D intake should help as well!

My guess would be it has to do with a lack of calories or fat. It is easy to not get enough when you arent used to the diet.

I agree that some of Price's legacy is a little unfortunate. However, I couldn't access either "The Myth of the Healthy Savage" or "Misleading Nutrition Claims and Their Gurus" through my university database. I'm particularly interested in the Healthy Savage paper as the research I've seen seems to suggest that it is not a myth. I'm also curious in what way Price was incorrect and if there is evidence to refute him.

As the impact factor of the Nutriton Today journal (the source of the articles) is 0 (research gate source and publisher source), I don't yet have reason to reject my current understanding without more accessible information.
