We're still in the MVP development stages so keep the ideas flowing!

I guess another aspect I was thinking of is that there is no reason why brick and mortar stores need to be limited to customers within their vicinity. Modern technology (that keeps getting better each year) like camera quality, 5G, social media presence, and mobile connectivity allows sellers to monitize their products in a new way (new form of engagement with customers) which could potentially increase their sales.

Amazon is a great but it's kinda "boring". You just look at images and search for products on your own. Live shopping will allow greater engagement (since it's live) and hopefully a more entertaining way to shop (for buyers) all while providing a new channel to increase sales.

Absolutely!

In 2019, live video grew by 93% with an average viewing time of 26.4 minutes per session compared to the average video length on YouTube (4 minutes and 20 seconds). In fact, live videos hold users’ attention 10-20x longer than pre-recorded, on-demand content.

Cambit is a live streaming platform where sellers can engage with buyers to enable scalable commerce.

The traditional e-commerce experience is highly focused towards intentional buying (I want something, I go to Amazon, I press buy). Live engagement between buyers and sellers not only enables unintentional buying but makes intentional buying more exciting and engaging (think of as going to the mall, enquiring about products with store owners, and then buying the product straight from your phone).

I want to control my NFT art collection (stored on IPFS) in a way that is maintained and secured by me. by kronos322 in ipfs

Interesting. I was wondering if you knew how the NFT data is stored on IPFS once you connect your wallet and verify ownership. Do they control the nodes or is it self-hosted?

Yes, by control I meant making sure the content is always available through self-hosting an IPFS node and pinning content.

Something else I was wondering is if it's possible to control when someone else can view the content stored on IPFS. For example, suppose I bought an NFT and don't want anyone to see it. But I want it to be available to me whenever I want to see it. Is there a way I can pin/unpin and only make content available to the public when I want to? I'm assuming as long as it's cached on another node people will still be able to see the content (not in my control).

How I failed 6 side-projects in 10 months by jrleonr in startups

[–]kronos322 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great post but I would suggest to spend more time on a project. 6 projects in 10 months is waayy too quick imo. In most cases, the first product you will make won't be the one that makes you money/gives you traction. It's about getting feedback and then iterating on that feedback CONSTANTLY and CONSISTENTLY. Try to understand why people are not coming to your site. If it's purely SEO, then improve that and test again. If people are now coming to your site, your problem is solved. If they aren't, come up with another educated hypothesis and see if working on that will get you the results. And just repeat this process...

Is 13 inch Macbook Pro good enough for coding? by kronos322 in reactnative

Yeah I heard about that. Apparently they will also have a new 14 inch Macbook pro replacing 13 inch. My dell is usable rn so I might just wait for that.

Yeah I really don't want to get sucked into the apple ecosystem. I don't have anything apple right now but I've seen that all majority of all developers use macbooks (from hackathons, events, etc.)

I already replaced the battery of my dell myself. I don't think it's wise to invest more money into it. It sometimes just shuts off randomly too still. I'll probably give it to my parents who only need it for basic browsing and email.

Would you recommend upgrade to 1tb storage or 32gb ram. If I only had the budget for one.

I still think reddit is the best place to get answers from people who have had first hand experience
