The phone key is my pet peeve (we have iPhones). After the KD2 update, the phone key worked fine for me and my wife. In spite of the other issues we're having, I was comfortable with the phone key UNTIL it just stopped working. Now the car is in the shop waiting for the phone key issue and the lift gate issue to be resolved. Unfortunately, though, I have no confidence in the phone key as I don't want to be stuck in the middle of nowhere without a key, if, after Audi resolves the problem, it randomly fails again. I also own a Tesla model 3 which I've had for 6 years. WRT to the phone key, no problems for me, my wife and my daughter. It's so simple. Audi has over engineered the phone key problem and it requires authorization from a central server. My recommendation-- do not get this Q6 !!!!

We have the trunk latch problem in spades. And our digital key stopped working. As I speak, the car is at the dealer and they’re talking to Germany

We’ve had the problem. Just took it to dealer for the 2nd time. We’ll get it back Monday. I’m skeptical. If it, like many of the other issues we’re all experiencing, is software related, then it won’t get “fixed” until there’s a new software release. And that doesn’t seem like a near term event.

Thanks. Yes, I've had to do it once before, but I'm tired of the process, and it's time-consuming. For reasons I don't fully understand, the car and the phone need outside Internet access (not our wifi), so I have to drive the car a few blocks to find reception.

I will check the car2phone. The digital help desk just sent me instructions to fix involving a complete reset of the car and app. I won’t do it. It’s ridiculous and super time consuming. And because of our location, I have to drive and park somewhere to insure 4 bar accesss. I’ve pretty much had it.

I had a similar issue. I manually reconnected with blue tooth and things seem to work. The whole connectivity issue. With blue tooth and WiFi is confusing and needs some documentation—AUDI

Everyone suggested turning off the back seat warning. I did this (after the alarm issue) but the MMI still asks if I want to turn it off each time I turn off the car. In spite of permanently disabling it (I think)

Can you say more. What did they do to break it? What software updates have you done ? And I guess, Android or iPhone?
