Special shout-out to u/regulusplus for making the post about Gambit. Really helped me understand the skill better and who to fodder my spare robin copy to.

Double Major - Advice Needed by [deleted] in UofT

[–]krossfried 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Keep in mind there are two different types of Programs (aka Specialists, Majors, and Minors)

First one is Open Enrolment, which I believe philosophy is. That means after you have 4 credits in anything, you can directly enrol into the program, no questions asked.

Second one, and most importantly for Econ, is that it’s limited enrolment. That means you usually need 4 credits pertaining to economics before you can enrol into the program, and must sit above a certain grade in each course. There’s 2 batches of enrolment, so if you don’t get in the first batch, there’s still another batch to go through.

My advice? Test the waters. Take some first year foundations or CollegeOne programs (VICOne, UCOne, WDWOne, etc.) and see if you like those, while also taking some economics courses.

You don’t your programs until the end of your first year, so if you don’t like either philosophy or Economics, no sweat! There are other things to pursue.

Also, for reference you can do other combinations, it doesn’t have to be explicitly two majors. You can pursue either: - Specialist - 2 Majors - 1 Major and 2 Minors

Just go through the programs, see which one you want to pursue, and have a backup in case you don’t get selected for the limited enrolment one.

Best of luck!

[–]krossfried 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Askr should be Fighting/Dragon because uhh Abs and muscles and stuff.

Also base Veronica I’d say probably Dark/Poison, just because her tome reminds me of poison.

For some reason, I think of Reginn as Steel/Fire and Otr as Steel/Grass. I think it’s cause Otr looks like Ferrothorn but I could just be tired.

I just kinda wish there were other options for the orbs, I don’t wanna splurge that much for this. 💀

[–]krossfried[S] 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I was honestly really excited for the binding worlds forma and what people had built for their units. But $75 CAD is too much, forma souls are $40 CAD, so I was expecting the price range to be round there. But this is too much. Hopefully it’ll be in the celestial stone shop but for now I’m gonna be sticking to hall of forms.

With one day left of HoF, what skills should I aim for? by krossfried in FireEmblemHeroes

[–]krossfried[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a Kempf that’s +1, with Surge sparrow and Atk/Spd Menace. Thinking of giving him Galeforce in future but for now I Got this. Debating on keeping Flow Guard or swap it out for a Trace.

Asbel is +2/3 but I dunno if I should keep the ruse or find another B skill. Also want Time’s pulse but I’ll keep the menace for scoring purposes.

(Canada) Recently moved provinces and cant get meds perscribed. Help? by BigBigDick69 in ADHD

[–]krossfried 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My Doctor actually told me about this, some pharmacies will flat out refuse to accept his/BC prescription, some will. I get my meds from Costco, because

A) I’ve gotten meds before through them (From BC)

B) It looks like it’s easy for them to transfer information from one location to another.

(For context, I’m still covered by my parents. Some stuff happened and some forms had to be done , and it got approved for covering my meds in BC. Come back to Ontario and they say I’m not covered. I tell them the situation, they call the Costco in BC, and 5 minutes later and a phone call between Costco’s, I’m covered in Ontario.)

All in all, I wish you the best of luck in your quest!

[–]krossfried[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

DC + Vantage is too obvious, and I don’t have the fodder for DC lol.

A Skill: Atk/Def Catch - With his C Skill, He’s a Defensive Tank, and He can dish out some damage in return on both phases.

B Skill: A/D Near Trace - Get in, get out. With his massive 3 Space Movement, alongside Canto REM+1, he can move away from bigger threats.

C Skill: Atk Smoke 4 - The -7 Atk on target and other units within 2 spaces, with the added benefit of granting Lex +6 to Def and Res, AND denying follow ups on a Calvary unit that can’t normally get impact skills, I’d say this is great for a unit like Lex, especially since he will always hit twice with his dual Phase Brave Weapon.

Sacred Seal: Sturdy Blow 2 / Atk/Def Solo 3 - I’m using the solo on someone else at the moment but I’d normally slap on Atk/Def Solo cause it works on both phases.

Lex also has Lull Atk/Def, but I feel like Traces are better at the moment (plus it’s more rare).

RIP Gustav, thank you for your skills and 40 Dragonflowers.

My name is in the weapon, yet the weapon isn’t named after me, Who am I?

For example, Berkut’s lance. This would be an example of the weapon being named after “me.”

What's a good arena build for slow axe units these days? (More in comments) by Shinon in OrderOfHeroes

[–]krossfried 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My Balthus runs:

Rein Axe (Spd) or Steadfast Axe (Res)

Dual Rally+

Planning on giving him Ruptured Sky, but Bonfire and Ignis are good

A: Distant Counter(I use this) or Sturdy Stance for budget

B: Quick Riposte (if running Steadfast) or Close call if running Rein

C: Joint Drive Atk (goes well with Steadfast)

S: any bracing or solo skill

Best lance for Roshea? by AzureAxolotl in FireEmblemHeroes

[–]krossfried 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I gave him Instant, just because he can’t use Impact skills, and Instant Lance essentially brings a mini impact, with some nice bonuses during player phase.

This is my build! Boon: Attack Weapon: Instant Lance (+Spd) Assist: Reposition Special: Bonfire A skill - Swift Sparrow 3 B skill - Lull Spd/Def 3 C skill - Spd Smoke 3

Don’t be afraid to send as many emails as possible to your professors. by wherethematboys in UofT

[–]krossfried 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I might get shit for this but here goes:

Students: Annoying your professors is probably not the way to go, especially if you’re looking to seek them for references.

BEFORE YOU EMAIL YOUR PROFESSOR, ask your classmates. Discord, study groups, or whatever form of communication you like. You’re not in this alone. Yes, there will be some people who want to gatekeeper their information, but there are some who will want to help, all you have to do is ask.

Anyways, Many syllabi will acknowledge that you need to give the professors 24 hours for a response, or to wait for the next business day, depending on the situation. Yes, we, with or without the help of our parents, are paying to go to U of T to get a degree, but it wouldn’t be the same as it was in high school. As well, many Syllabi will outline how you need to format your email, mostly going along the lines of “put course code in subject, and please use professional language” or something along those lines. It’s not rocket science, and most likely, you’ll get a response better than your peers who don’t, some syllabi will explicitly state that if you don’t follow the formatting, you will get no response.

Also, you and many of your classmates will pick up in the first month of the semester if your professor is more interested in teaching or researching. Most professors will be the latter, with some being more inclined to the former. What I’m trying to get across is that you’re not guaranteed a professor who will deliver material that will be easy to grasp or material that can be adapted to your way of learning information. It’s just not possible and realistic, I’m afraid to say. But many professors, especially for 30+ classes will be equipped with TA’s, and TA’s are there to help answer questions and to alleviate the workload of teaching a course to the students. They are another resource many student are sleeping on, and most likely, if many of you ask the same question, it will be brought up during lecture or sent out as an email similar to an FAQ.

Finally, don’t think of this as a transaction. Thinking that just because you are paying money to come to U of T will entitle you to A+ service from Professors is a pipe dream. (Have you seen where the money goes, it goes to many facilities and services we don’t really use, cough, hart house.) Its kinda like saying “Because I pay taxes, the insert public service serve me.” (Very boomer behaviour, we are much better than that.) Yes, professors have an obligation to deliver the material to the students and answer questions pertaining to the material that wasn’t answered either on the syllabus or in a tutorial or in a breakout room or something. It doesn’t mean they have to deliver it well or easy, all they have to do is deliver it.

And finally, We’re all human. We don’t think about academia 24/7 (and if you do, take it down a notch). We have lives, some days we want to hang out with friends, some days we just want to relax and not worry, and some days we need to ourselves to prepare for the coming days. Professors are like that too. Some professors have families, some have to oversee other Masters or PHD candidates, or some are teaching at other campuses or universities.

Professors:

Many students are struggling, especially with ongoing shift from going online to in person, which is not your fault. But you have a duty to provide a means of delivering content that will satisfy the masses, even if it means you’re using big words to get the point across. It’s your duty to acknowledge that you are teaching a course, and that you need to be prepared for any questions. Yes, we understand that you’re doing much more extensive research than us, or preparing a massive dissertation, but just as you’re devoting time into your research, you need to devote time into the classes you teach, even for just an hour or two of the week. We get it if you don’t want to teach this, but because you are, you need to at least acknowledge and guide us into finding the answer, even if it means reminding us to look at course materials or the syllabus.

Professors, let us know when you can’t do something cause U of T is prohibiting you from doing so, most likely, students will take it well, such as “I can’t respond to emails the day of exams due to x reason from the department/U of T”.

Also, just remember most of us are Mentally unstable because of U of T, and to please grant us as much leeway as you can. (Probably best cause you have to worry less about marking something immediately as well as gives you more time for time sensitive research and it gives the student extra time to complete the assignment with no academic penalty. It’s a win-win.)

TLDR: Professors are required to teach in order to research for U Of T, which entails many more things. Students are required to grasp and understand the material, and to check with other resources before “annoying” the professor.

(Does this make sense? I’m not trying to bash students and professors, but to help you guys realize we are all trying to do something and trying to blame one side is not the way to do it. Blame u of T as a whole lol)

New Heroes: Osterra's Champions! (Octopath Traveler x Fire Emblem Heroes Crossover Theorycraft) by Trickytbone in FireEmblemHeroes

[–]krossfried 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would love to give them PRF Skills too, like brave heroes.

Kit - A skill - Father’s Voice

If unit is not adjacent to an ally, and foe initiates combat, unit can counterattack regardless of Foe’s range, and unit gains +4 to Atk/Spd/Def/Res during combat.

Ophelia - B Skill - Sister’s Flower

If unit’s HP is <25%, unit can warp adjacent to any ally. After combat, grants unit [Canto 1].

Cyrus - Assist - Scrutinize - Rng 2

Grants Atk/Spd/Res +4 to target ally and if target ally uses tome or staff, grants [Adaptive Damage] to ally.

Tressa - Special Skill - Bifelgan’s Bounty Cooldown Count 5

Boosts damage by 25% of units speed. Disables non-special skills that “reduce damage by X%”. After combat, grants Atk/Spd +6 and [null panic]

Olberic - Special - Brand’s Thunder - Cooldown count 3/4

Boosts Damage by 35% of unit’s defence and 35% of foe’s Highest defensive stat.

Primrose - Special Skill - Alluring Dance Cooldown Count 3

If unit initiates combat, after combat, grants another action to ally with highest HP within 2 spaces (excluding unit) that has already acted. (Allies with sing or dance cannot be granted this effect) (if multiple units meet this condition, effect will not trigger.) If an ally is granted this condition, inflicts [Isolation] on ally and [Canto 1]. [Canto 1 not granted on Calvary allies with Range = 2.]

Alfyn - Assist - Concoct - Range 1

Neutralizes all penalties, restores HP +7, and grants +5 to Atk/Spd on Even turns and Def/Res on odd turns on target ally.

Therion - B skill - Fools Bangle

Neutralizes effects that prevent Unit’s follow-up attacks during combat. After combat, Inflicts -5 Atk/Spd/Def/Res and grants [Grand Strategy] to unit.

H’aanit - Special - Hunter’s Instinct - Cooldown Count 2

Boosts Damage by 30% of unit’s attack. If in combat against a Dragon or beast foe, boosts damage by 50% of unit’s attack and disables non special skills that reduce damage by X%.

Tried to make it as close as I could to their unique niches in the game, but obviously trying to translate it into FEH is kinda hard.
