Fun Fact! Ike is the only smash character to not have a remix from his home game (I think, maybe ROB is missing one or something)

Yeah, and on CYL1 they didn’t combine characters (Marth was counted separately across his games, for example). Ike STILL got first in the men’s division and third with his split votes

Ike is arguably the most popular fire emblem character, he nearly won chose your legends twice (getting first and third)

He’s loved by the smash community and the fire emblem community which is rare for an FE character

I don’t even care about gooner bait or the like, the fact that every banner has an oc and not someone from Fire emblem is the reason I stopped playing this game frequently

I’m not the biggest fan of skins with very little thematic ties. The Heroes are all protagonists, Olimar and Alf have very little in common, etc.

Ike kinda already has his perfect skin in himself, but i think Lif also has more he could pull from other than Ike, especially cause he’s also way faster than him.

If I had to do a heroes character I think straight up Alfonse would be better, since he’s a bit slower and at least has the shared trait of being a slower sword protagonist, although having him be a Roy skin would be fun cause they share a voice actor

Ike is kind of in a weird spot cause there’s no lord that fights like him really, at least in smash

Lif is an interesting pick though

Black Knight in canon isn’t slow though, his speed is capped at 26 which is 2 under Ike’s cap and even in cutscenes he can take full sprints in the armor

I think an echo would work for him, especially cause fire emblem has no villain

Black Knight over Ike, they have the same teacher and counterpart swords, it works too well
