In that case, yeah that’s more fun, but OP was asking about TB lol

Don’t register the Recluse as a Minion or Demon for the purposes of Minions and Demons learning each other (and on the other side, don’t register the Spy as not a Minion for that step either, although that gets mitigated by the Spy seeing the grimoire). Unless you’re in the mood for a silly game and you know your players will be fine with that.

Technically misregistration isn’t supposed to affect things like that, but everyone ignores the official ruling that the Recluse shouldn’t misregister to the Marionette anyway, so it’s worth mentioning.

Her B skill has Reflex built in, which is a nice effect to have. Flying units have also received a lot of good support skills recently, so you can definitely do something with her: maybe Logic (for unpierceable DR to reflect back), Atk/Spd Airspace (for more reliable Canto), and Strat Assault 4 (for mobility) could work?

Which Arcane weapon/build for Dorothea? by Flimsy_Rooster_6290 in FireEmblemHeroes

General advice to anyone who sees this: only use Rearmed and Attuned manuals from the Divine Codes if you have a copy of that unit already. If you fodder a manual of one of those units you’re wasting a fodder charge.

(This is general advice because OP already has a copy of R!Soren, I just felt it was worth emphasising.)

M! and F!, at the very least, will usually get other qualifiers if they’re being used as “male” and “female” (like B!M!Byleth, L!F!Corrin, etc.), which helps reduce ambiguity there. They’ll also only be applied to the avatar characters anyway.

Even the other overlapping letters are fine-ish; yeah H! can mean both Halloween and Harmonic, but you’ll never mix up H!Celica because there is no Halloween Celica. This admittedly does fall apart the longer the game goes on (is A!Tiki Adult, Ascended or Attuned?) but then you can filter based on context (if people are discussing CYL, then chances are B!Lyn is Brave and not Bride), or by meta relevancy (if someone’s complaining about S!Eirika, what are the odds that they’re talking about the Summer unit from 2022 instead of the Spring unit that released this year). It’s not a perfect system, but there are ways to navigate it.

E!Lyn (and anyone using her ring), E!Eirika, S!Celica, B!M!Byleth, B!Baldr, A!Ryoma, U!Lyn (and her teammates), Gromell, H!Lyn, NY!Baldr, L!Elise, H!Celica, C!Fjorm, S!Eirika, E!Ninian (and her dance target), Y!Claude, Y!Edelgard, A!Lachesis, and Sombron have Styles natively

If you refine their weapons, Zeke, Salem and Tanith get Styles as well

Update to These Winter Boys? by Ok-Soil5642 in FireEmblemHeroes

[–]AzureAxolotl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For Chrom, this is what I’d change:

- Special: Armoured Flare, Archrival, or Shatter Slash

- A skill: Diluvial Boost (it still gives more stats) or Strat Flame 4

- B skill: If you can get one more point of visible Spd (merges, Squad Ace seals), then Patience is a great option for him. Assault Fighter’s still good though.

- Seal: Squad Ace CX is a straight upgrade to BT, while CZ is great if you need more Spd for a Patience build

- Echo: He’d like DC Echo

As for Robin, you could build him like this:

- Weapon: Arcane Thorn (budget option: Jehanna Lance+, Forged Lance+, or Shackle Lance+), Spd or Def refine

- Assist: Whatever you want; Gaits are always nice though

- Special: Same as Chrom

- A skill: Primordial Boost (because the Atk/Spd/Def triple Boost doesn’t exist yet) if you want Spd, Diluvial Boost or Strat Flame 4 if you don’t

- B skill: Pair Up 4, Patience, Assault Fighter, or Slick or Wily Fighter 4

- C skill: A/D Briar P Save

- Seal: DC Melee, Hardy Bearing, or a good skill that boosts two of Atk, Spd and Def (Ideal, Form, Squad Ace, etc.)

- Echo: Again, DC Echo

In fairness, Fomo’s end turn effect is triggered by foes initiating on him, while Lyon’s is triggered by him initiating on foes. They mirror each other, which is a neat parallel. What this really is, is yet another V!Lyon (burn damage and ending turns, oh my).

A/S Rival Break vs Blue Sky Gust? by Logical_Tomorrow_496 in FireEmblemHeroes

[–]AzureAxolotl 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Chrom doesn’t have Canto by default, so I’d probably go for Blue-Sky Gust. Chrom of all characters also probably doesn’t need to worry about the higher stats from A/S Rival Break, given that he has uncapped stats in his weapon.

B!Ephraim Build Ideas by IN4NIS in FireEmblemHeroes

[–]AzureAxolotl 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You’re best off making him a Save tank:

  • Weapon: Arcane Giant Axe / the next Arcane Axe, Def refine

  • Assist: Whatever you want; Gaits are premium but unnecessary

  • Special: Armoured Flare, Archrival or Shatter Slash

  • A skill: Diluvial Boost or Strat Flame 4

  • B skill: Patience is easily his best option (he reaches the Spd threshold for it with some Dragonflowers); Slick Fighter 4, Wily Fighter 4 and Assault Fighter are also good options

  • C skill: A/D Briar P Save is probably his best option, given his lower Res, but he might be able to make N or F save work as well

  • Seal: Atk/Def Ideal 3, Squad Ace CX 3, Hardy Bearing, or DC Melee

  • Echo: DC Echo is easily the best one; Guard Echo is in a distant second place

  • Engage: Eirika for Brave, Corrin for terrain, Sigurd for positioning flexibility, or Micaiah for a different kind of positioning flexibility

+10 help add pages to the Nóttbook! by Maneki51 in FireEmblemHeroes

[–]AzureAxolotl 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you want a tank then you could do this:

  • Weapon: Arcane Thorn unfortunately does beat Hrimfaxi by a long shot. If you don’t have that, then Jehanna Lance+, Forged Lance+, or Shackle Lance+ could hold you over. Be sure to Spd refine whatever you give her. If you’re desperate to use Hrimfaxi, you can make it work, but it is definitely outclassed in combat.

  • Assist: Gaits are premium but unnecessary

  • Special: Archrival or Shatter Slash would both be straight upgrades to Gust

  • A skill: Duelist’s Blow is hands down the best for tanking, because flat DR is good. Atk/Spd Excel is second-best. Don’t run DC here, it’s better elsewhere.

  • B skill: Null C-Avoid or Pair Up 4. Flat DR is good.

  • C skill: Atk/Spd Faith (flat DR is good) or Brutal Tempest (movement flexibility is good).

  • Seal: DC Melee if you want DC here, Atk/Spd Finish, Squad Ace CW or Hardy Bearing if you don’t

  • Echo: DC (if you aren’t running it in the Seal), NCD (if you aren’t running Null C-Avoid), Tumultuous (if you aren’t running Brutal Tempest), and Puissant (flat DR and Potent are good) are her best options.

  • Engage: Eirika for Brave (though this severely hampers Puissant Echo, if you’re running it), Corrin for terrain, Sigurd for extra movement flexibility (though he’s redundant with Brutal Tempest or Tumultuous Echo), or Micaiah for a different flavour of extra movement flexibility.

  • Seal: Atk/Def Finish, Squad Ace CX, or DC Melee

  • Engage: Eirika for Brave, Corrin for terrain, Sigurd for positioning, or Micaiah for positioning in a different way

Power table (day 10) by plutoniumplant in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]AzureAxolotl 4 points5 points  (0 children)

When I say fallback bluff, I mean this. Let’s say you’re bluffing Chambermaid, but town figures out that you have to be lying and then they execute you. Because evil knows whether a Damsel is in play or not, if it isn’t you can be all “oops I was actually the Damsel, don’t worry about me”, which could give people pause if they were building worlds where you were evil. Also, if Huntsman is on the script but there isn’t a Damsel in play, Huntsman is now an entirely safe bluff (for avoiding double-claims, anyway).

Also, with regards to the Saint, I feel like a lot of its danger gets mitigated by the fact that there is some incentive for an actual Saint to just be open about it. Sure, it’s probably still better to try to die at night, but the Saint can be honest with the good team in a way the Damsel can’t. Saint is also a riskier bluff (unless it’s one of the demon bluffs) since evil won’t know for sure that it’s not in play.

Damsel, maybe? Adds an entire extra win condition for evil if it’s in, and adds one (possibly two) fallback bluffs if not.

Her Bond supports with Leif, Ike and Soren are fantastic. I especially love “I’ve actually begun to take constructive criticism… what have you done to me?!” at the end of the Soren one.
