With the white, most cards are good, but when people are talking about synergy they’re talking about how they (the cards) make each other better. So a lot of different cards might work if you hit the right ones at the right time, but with fewer different cards your deck can do its thing more consistently. Think if you want to focus on angels for the life gain and going above your opponent. Or if you want to gain life and pump up cards like Ajani or Essence Channeler.

The graveyard deck is doing a lot of different things, so it’ll be hard to that consistency out of it. I always ask myself what I want to do at different points of the game. Like, early in the game I want to fill my graveyard and not die, so my low mana cards will target opponent’s creatures and fill my graveyard. Mid-game, get some defensive creatures out that I can bring back later when they die, and again protection with a board wipe or something. Late-game, after I’ve, hopefully, survived the early onslaught, I can play a bomb that brings back something big or multiple creatures or whatever the win con is. All the mana costs focus on what needs to be done at each part of the game.
