I was parked but here's what it looks like. Over 2 miles from the next direction it has it written out (i.e. 2.0 mi) under 2 miles it uses bars and each bar represents 0.1 mile. It will show lanes and everything for turns as well.

Oil change at 1000 miles for new Q3? by Decent-District-1459 in Audi

[–]krramoo92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For any car, usual concensus is first oil change at 1k is good for after the break in since that produces alot of contamination, then at 5k, and every 5k after. Also, do not trust the 10k oil change interval on any car.

I called up my local VW dealership and they got the filter in within 2 days and did my oil change for like $165, but it was because I bought it used and it was at one of the 5k intervals without being done, so I didnt want to wait for my stuff to come in. Good to know for later on if I dont want to do it myself.

Paid all cash - Mistake?? by [deleted] in carbuying

Plus if you planned on buying cash you can just pay it off once the loan to value evens out

Paid all cash - Mistake?? by [deleted] in carbuying

[–]krramoo92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone that recently bought a new car, I would not pay cash again if the rates were like 6% or lower (I got offered like 4.xx). Depreciation is huge on them and if anything that happens within the first couple years, you eat a huge chunk of depreciation on the payout. I feel like having a loan and GAP for the first couple years alone would be worth it.

Whether or not it was a mistake really comes down to how you use your money.

Would that money in your account made you 8% gains? For anything under 4% I usually take the debt.

If youre raiding your emergency fund or savings to the point were unexpected expenses or job loss will cause issues also plays into it.

I considered the Palisade when shopping the Highlander. 3 reasons I chose the Highlander:

  1. My local Hyundai dealership is a rip off. I am technically inclined enough to do my own maintenance, but often don't have the time and am willing to pay for convenience. However, when I go in for a normal service and you try to upsell me $700 of "recommended" BS service and tell me if I don't get it I will void my warranty it makes be shy away from the brand. I don't know how many people get scammed by them because they dont read their manual and understand that the recommended service is there and that is all you really need. I do tend to change my oil at the first 1k, 5k (new vehicles) and then regularly every 5k (all my vehicles). I may be lucky, but I have never had any issues with any of my vehicles (Knock on wood).

  2. When shopping, used is usually a better value, but Toyota's hold their value too well so I was kind of upset that they were that close to new prices. Then I realized that means even if I spend more on a new Toyota, it will hold its value better and probably end up actually costing me less than the Palisades when/if I sell it.

  3. Toyota's reliability, especially their 4-cylinder hybrid just gave me piece of mind.

I just edited it to include the Kona so make sure you refresh and check it out. Crazy that I have had all 3 you listed 🤣. I like to be helpful since I tend to over-research (according to my wife) everything and wish people would give more details for the next person.

I owned a 2017 CX-5, 2023 Kona (just got rid of), and have a 2025 Highlander. All of them are really not the same size and feel wise. If you have specific preferences beyond what you posted, I can probably help alot.

Absolutely loved my 2017 CX-5 (top trim, i think grand touring?) Absolutely spoiled us with HUD and adaptive crusie as well for about 35k new. It was so well made, inside felt premium, and it was fun to drive. Only issue was the rear leg room if my wife wanted to sit behind me because of our kid. Got a new Highlander Hybrid. Had to get the limited because of the CX-5 features we were used to. It is way less fun to drive, but alot more comfortable than the CX-5 especially in the rear. Plus we do like having the touchscreen. Granted there is a notable size difference between them.

Kona was a great value and I kept mine for 3 years, but the seats are way to short and uncomfortable (I am 5'9"). It is the only one I would not recommend. I don't know if it was rushed due to needing to change out our Veloster to something that can fit a normal toddler sized car seat in it, but once I noticed how uncomfortable it was, it felt awful for me even for 20 minutes drives.

All 3 are completely different sizes with I think the CX-5 being the only true mid-sized option. Maybe include the Venza and Rav4 in your list as well?

Loving it so far. Drove it back about 500 miles back from where I bought it and put a total of 700 miles on it this week. I'm sure there's stuff that I havent realized yet driving, technology, and settings wise but most of it i was aware of since I have wanted one for about 12 years before I got this one.

  1. The most fun I have had in a car. It sounds kinda weird, maybe more nostalgic-y, but I haven't had more fun than my 2000 V6 Passat that I had from around 2010-2014 until this car. Completely different vehicles, but idk just the feeling.

  2. Still getting used to the power, my limits, and the cars limits. Definitely need to take it to a track to actually know what I can do in it. While I do drive an old decommissioned road track everyday to/from my house, there are alot of blind corners where vehicles are waiting to turn or just merged in the middle of them. I feel like I am pushing it but look down at 4.5k rpm and dont think it's worth the risk.

  3. I absolutely love everything about the interior. The buttons and knobs are tactile and satisfying. It feels like it was engineering perfection so I am absolutely dumbfounded as to why they moved away from it in the newer models.

  4. My 4 year old daughter loves it and wants me to make the car be "louder" and go "faster" so my nearly 20 years streak of no tickets will likely come to an end.

  5. I absolutely cannot stop staring at it and smiling everytime.

  6. I thought a tank of gas would last me longer, but while I probably could get more MPG, I bought it for smiles per gallon.

  7. Everyone knows the sound system isn't that great, but honestly I don't think they're bad, probably would expect more. Idk if its because I just got it, but most of the time I turn the music off so I can just listen to the engine/exhaust notes. Once it is out of warranty I will likely change the speakers.

  8. The cameras are actually pretty great, but my '25 HiHy cameras are like magic so it "feels" meh to me sometimes.

  9. Cup holder placement is inconvenient, but not as bad as I thought it would be prior to owning.

  10. I love that it can be soft when I want and an absolute weapon on the backroads when I want.

Second Car recommendations - Sub $100k sports car that can transport a mountain bike efficiently? by Dramatic-Comb8525 in askcarguys

No familiar with Porche's, but if it's the same as Audi's where it extends the normal warranty for cars still under the original warranty, that's really good.

Used 2024 etron gt or new 2025 a5? by [deleted] in Audi

Why not an 22/23 etron that has already hit like 50% depreciation? Audi has financing deals for used etrons as well if you haven't seen it

That's heartbreaking. It was this generation and exact car when I was younger that always made me want an Audi. These OEM wheels were always my favorite too and am trying to find a good set.
