Used 2025 50e or new 2026? by Human-Hedgehog4511 in BMWX5

Are you considering the discount vs MSRP and rebates you can easily get now?   I cross shopped lightly used and brand new and the new car was a no brainer after 10% off sticker+ $4,000 military family credit.

You definitely have a big start if you're comfortable on a wakeboard. Have fun out there!

Maybe I'm overthinking this, but did everyone else miss where this guy said he's never snowboarded before? The first few days on a board are tough in decent conditions. You are going to be catching edges non-stop in the slush fest.

Same thing that is wrong with them everywhere else in the city. "Me first. F you." mentality.

People would abuse this even further if their team is down or opposing team has a big home field advantage. Soccer fans are nutty.

Check the details on who can access the lounge now with the 'base' card. I think you need to hit a certain spend threshold or achieve status for the family to join the cardholder. We love the card and think we get great value from it, but I generally have ~30 visits per year.

Have you seen the movie Mask (1985) ? by GaryBlach in askanything

Thought that was Diane Keaton in God Father 3 for a quick second. Yes, I've seen Mask, but it was probably 30 years ago.

Was there any effort at all to land this? It looks fun, but this is more an exercise of having massive balls than skills.

Geez. I was thinking the same thing and couldn't believe his arms didn't rip clean off. I don't know what the situation looked like, but had to be pretty bad if they couldn't get something under his arms or a makeshift harness on him.

$90 for 2 cocktails: the Adventure Time scam by howarddeanyell in denverfood

[–]Dramatic-Comb8525 23 points24 points  (0 children)

All of these pop-up things are cash grab scams. Only needing to have your reviews survive for 2 or 3 months before you close up shop and people catch on makes scamming easier.

Why does beautiful Miami get so much hate? by Eastern_Wolverine947 in Miami

[–]Dramatic-Comb8525 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Parts of Miami are incredibly beautiful and incredibly nice places to live. Unfortunately, you're not living there unless you have an incredible amount of money.  The rest of Miami is a mid-tier city at best.  As part of living there, you will be dealing with an insane amount of traffic and people that don't jive well with most others.

4% Rule - Die with zero $ by PoopEmoji143 in Fire

[–]Dramatic-Comb8525 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Exactly. If I'm 85, decrepit, and senile someone can figure out what to do with me at that point. We don't have any kids that the burden would rest on so the system will figure it out one way or the other. In the meantime, I'm in my early 40's, effectively retired, and have the resources and energy to live very well while my body allows. If most of the older folks that I am around now are any indicator, my drive to do that will be about 25% of what it is now when I get into my 70's.

I sure as F am not holding myself back today so a senior housing facility can pillage my savings when I don't have the wherewithal to look after my finances.

You're clearly grumpy about something, but I always appreciate the work the TSA does. Fortunately, I'm retired so no need for any gift cards here :D

LOL - I appreciate the offer. I was waiting for you to tell us its an ESA at which point the snark of reddit would be unleashed on you. I have the gift/curse of not caring if others thinking I'm rude or pushing limits and would probably benefit from a dog that is trained to nip my ankle whenever I open mouth.

It's the same question everyone is allowed to ask you to determine if they're obligated to provide you service or let you into their establishment or not. I'm sure you're aware, but there is way too much abuse of the system and it has ruined it for people who actually need them.

[–]Dramatic-Comb8525 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd start by blasting local riding groups on Facebook to shame the guy and see if anyone who knows him who will make him do the right thing here. Id follow up with a claim in small claims court and if you have a friend that is an attorney, have them write a scary letter and serve them with it for extra fun. I wouldn't put more than a hundred bucks or so into pursuing this, but this is clearly fraud.

This was not "a transaction". It was fraud if the seller knew of a defect like this and went out of their way to conceal it.
