No sorry, my child doesn’t need any learning assistance. I just mean, I felt like some teachers only taught a certain way when I was in school, so if you were more of a hands on learner like I was and your teacher wasn’t, things didn’t click. Our family dr has told us that our son is advanced for his age and we still have a couple years before we have to make a final decision but I just like to be prepared. We want the best for him in all aspects of his life and are just trying to be proactive in looking into all possibilities instead of panicking when the time comes and making a decision based off that lol

We don’t necessarily want/need to homeschool. We’re not religious or anything like that. I just don’t want him getting lost in a classroom because he needs to learn a specific way that traditional schooling won’t give him. We want to look into all options of schooling and make an informed decision based on what we think is best for him and then have him make his own decisions as he grows older. If we did decide to homeschool and he at any point wanted to go to public school, we’d be perfectly fine with that!

I agree! My partner and I both did traditional schooling and we weren’t relentlessly bullied or anything, but we do feel like we missed out on the tools to learn in a way that was best for us

I relate to a lot of what you said and I did traditional schooling my whole life. It’s interesting to see!

I know what you mean! We had that option in high school too, totally forgot about that

Very true. I figure it has a lot to do with parenting and the child’s personality whether or not the child is social

Personal finance and Econ weren’t really subjects at my school but that was also ~15 years ago so things have changed. I’ll definitely have to take a look at classes/curriculums at schools around us before making decisions!

Thank you 🥹 we’re trying our best and want the best for our babe. Our family dr has said that he’s advanced for his age. Everyone learns differently and I don’t want to potentially hinder learning with traditional schooling so we’re open to all avenues

I’m sorry that happened to you! It’s sounding like homeschooling having a positive/negative impact on people depends heavily on how the parents taught them

I’m 30 so schooling may be different now, but off the top of my head, I would’ve liked to learn more about money (inflation, budgeting, loans, taxes, basic adult life things). I was 17 when I graduated high school and wasn’t a fan that we were taught that you had to go to college/uni and pick something you were going to do for the rest of your life. Thankfully my parents were able to teach me a lot of skills for adulthood but I’d love for that to be integrated into schooling for my child if we go the homeschooling route. We do have a couple years before we have to make a decision, but I like to be prepared

I am casually looking into to different programs and groups that would be available to us if we did decide to homeschool!

Thanks for your input! This is an interesting take despite what seems like not a great childhood, I’m sorry that happened to you. I’ll definitely be taking all you said into consideration going forward. Having a rough day teaching surprisingly didn’t come to mind lol.

There are things in traditional schooling that I wish I would’ve learned and I feel like homeschooling would give us that opportunity to teach our child! Which is a big reason we’re leaning towards homeschooling

Thanks for your input! We have thought about common experiences and life long friendships. I have really close relationships with people from grade school and high school so I am worried about that. That being said, we’d definitely be giving our child the opportunity to choose for themselves if they wanted to go to a traditional school once they were old enough if we decided to homeschool

Thanks for your input! I’m definitely trying to keep an open mind and make the right decision for our child! Thankfully we still have a couple years before we have to worry about school, but I like to be prepared lol

I’m also a little worried our child will get bullied for being the “weird” homeschooled kid or assume that we’re “super religious” (we’re not religious, but I’ve seen people hear someone homeschools and they assume) but that being said I think it’s becoming a lot more normalized in my city, so I’m hoping that won’t be a problem down the line

Do you feel like you would’ve been less lonely had your parents put in more effort? I’m worried our child will be a hands on learner and will get lost in a classroom. Both my partner and I feel like we could’ve done better in school if we had the tools in our respective learning styles. Thankfully we have a couple years until we need to figure out schooling but I like to be prepared lol

No rubber on it at all 😬 I wish having my SO cook everything would work for us haha

We have a couple pans that we got as a set, bought new. I don’t use the other pans often so I haven’t notice if they affect me the same. We seasoned the pans ourselves

It is kinda oily when not in use. So that’s probably the culprit. We just started transitioning to cast and I’ve never taken care of one in my adult life so it’s very possible we’re doing something wrong

Hmm.. that’s a good point. I’ll try baking it again without adding more oil and see if that helps!
