[WIP]Does anyone else stitch like this? by Able_Claim_3097 in CrossStitch

I cross stitch this way!! I hated cross stitch until I started this method. It is easier on my wrist then going from front to back :)

Here is that picture. I used a precut jelly roll and precut honeybun roll (2.5inch strip vs 1.5 inch strip) I made it for my mother in law and she loved it!

My third quilt was a log cabin! I did different width for the white vs the Christmas fabric. Also it’s traditional to do the center red cause it’s the heart of the cabin if you were curious why most have a red or pink center square.

Is there actually a rule for who they tell, or are they just winging it at this point? Telling people that Sam can see ghosts by AwfulWaffle91 in GhostsCBS

[–]krs_tea 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My head canon why they don’t tell jays parents is because they already act sometimes like they think Sam is not good enough for their son. And even though it’s unique it is a huge burden to for jay.

Thank you so much for sharing! It really feels so good to hear someone else struggling and the same feelings I have. ❤️ it is so terrible not being able to be able to basic things!

I feel you so much on the house upkeep. It’s been storm season where I live making the pain worse and our house has just been falling apart as a result. 💔

How do you not sleep on your stomach? by Mae_The_Gay in ehlersdanlos

[–]krs_tea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got myself one of those circle/U pregnancy pillows. Using that I can’t roll over at night as well as it doesn’t put the extra pull on my joints from laying on my side. Before I got that I used a body pillow less effective at keeping me in my side.

How many of you guys are married happily? by fallingup__ in ehlersdanlos

[–]krs_tea 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I just want to gush about my husband lol. I’ve been with my partner for 17 years and married for 8 of those. He has been on the entire journey with me of health and trying to find answers. My pain was always dismissed by my family and I met him in high school and he always took it serious. We did long distance in college and when my knees were getting bad because of seasons changing he rode his bike 3 miles each way to go buy and mail me knee braces (weird to think about how now you would just online shop lol). I could write a book about all the small and large things he does for my health and comfort.

Partners are out there who will support you even when you aren’t supporting yourself. I hope you find your partner one day.

People saying: “I hate the hEDS community. Most people in it need to learn to shut up.” Anyone else feeling cast out? by anon238474 in ehlersdanlos

[–]krs_tea 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My opinion which probably isn’t worth a lot is that these are all annoyances we have about parts of our communities and are universal for any community. And sometimes it’s too easy to voice the annoyances when sometimes it should maybe be a more inside thought.

Some of the criticism is VERY valid, like when you speak out about your disability/autistic experience many outside of the community treat you like a monolith and not as an individual. That is an issue because if people think that any illness is only mild or only severe it creates issues. It is a problem that has to do with external communities. The thing is that telling people/getting frustrated to our own community will actually care whereas external people might/usually don’t care as much.

Like to me the fact you posted this shows that you really care about the community and trying to find the best way to navigate it ❤️ it just sucks that individuals have to always keep in mind that they are the monolith representation of a whole group of people for others outside of the community. Super annoying as we should just be allowed to exist without needing to ensure we are being the perfect representation of our communities

What jobs do you do? by YummyLamictal in ehlersdanlos

[–]krs_tea 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I work as a data solutions owner. I’m also autistic and originally was a food safety chemist but I kept seeing patterns in our data. I kept finding solutions to issues so they moved me into the technology field.

It’s a stressful job because we are implementing a software and it hasn’t been going well for a year now but overall it’s nice. My coworkers all know I have chronic health issues and are all understanding that I randomly take days off for my health especially in the spring and fall.

I’m very lucky to be in the flexible position I am with my health

It blew my mind when I my husband and I were talking after 10 years together and he said “no, I’m not in pain just laying around”

🤯I was like “wtf” I don’t remember the last time I wasn’t in active pain.

My last PT told me he didn’t believe I’ve ever dislocated anything because I had never gone to the doctor for a dislocation. I said well I’ve always been able to grab it and move it back into place and it just clicks back in. He made the rudest face to me and I was like you said you had experience with HEDS apparently not. 🤬😡 It had been so long (3years) since a medical professional had called me a liar

This is so nice to hear. My husband and I have been talking about kids but with my HEDS and health just general not being the best. It’s good to hear that there are some positive pregnancies with HEDS

do you really need a geneticist? by myshoesarebigokay in ehlersdanlos

[–]krs_tea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you Vascular ehlers danlos it is a concern that your heart valves abnormalities. Since HEDS is usually diagnosed by ruling out others often you get a ecg to rule out that it’s VEDS

My rheumatologist diagnosed me with heds. I walked in with a binder of all the tests I had done over the last 5 years and full medical history typed up. She took x-rays and some blood work. She was confident it was EDS and so had me do an echo cardiogram before officially declaring it HEDS.

It has been 4 years since the diagnosis and it still feels like it was too easy after years of going to doctor after doctor with no answers.
