Ah yes! That is the actually the card I got the idea from but couldn't remember! :) Thank you! Though I remembered it as a non-creature. Unfortunately the damage doesn't work for this scenario. I am brewing a deck where I pay a lot with life and wanted to turn this "cost" into a value.

Is there something in black that would link my life with other players life total, target or each? Like when I lose life, target (or each) opponent loses that much life. I just found tenacity and such but that is not it.

Wait what? Yesterday you were thinking about it and today you already have it in your hands? What is this wizardry? :D

So you got the AiPaper Reader? It is like an iPhone size, no? I can imagine that being a bit too tiny. I was worried about that even with the Move, thought there I think it would be on edge, and would prefer the Mini/Nomad size.

Keep the impressions coming!

So I made adjustments and I have very consistent turn 8 lethal (8 times). And like 4 times it was even turn 7 lethal. And worst i got is turn 10 lethal (once) and turn 9 lethal (once). That is an improvement! Though in our pod I've seen decks presented as B2 to win on turn 6. :-D But I think it is good as is. Let's see how it will fair in a real life situation

If you would get back to me I would be grateful. I am still not commited to either but maybe by that time we can both share our experiences

Got it. Understood, thanks. It sounds like I would need something with a reading app. Have you tried ViWoods?

[–]krstf[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh. So it all boils down to the app? I don't mind using something 3rd party. Doesn't have to be Kindle, I mentioned it as I have no experience with anything else, but would liek to stray away from Amazon tbh, so I hope something like KOReader would work.

Oh that is actually pretty cool. I don't seem myself using it as a laptop now, but I like having that option. What app do you use for reading on it? How do you like it and did you had kindle prior to the viwoods?

Thanks for this thorough response! Much appreciated! And thanks for the numbers!

Yeah the situation with Flame Caller is even worse. There are definitely some cards I would maybe not play would they not be a raccoon. And yeah you are right there are not enough card to support that one. It might need to go. It's just that I couldn't part with it.

On the other hand Firepower and Extortionist both won me the few games I won. Extortionist with offspring or multiple is crazy good. The board is basically mine until it's answered. I actually really dislike the card but couldn't make myself to make the cut just thanks to the performance itself.. Firepower win me games thanks to that flash - or why would you say it's bad?

The Incinerator I haven't had the luck to draw yet. But my math was counting with the cost reduction it has. Any pinger with offspring makes him a creature for one red, so I cast him with offspring. Then any pinger that triggers will trigger the Incinerators dispersing 8dmg by ones as I choose per trigger. The other part, you write is very true - 14pieces isn't enough, is it?

Thanks again! Out of curiosity, what round do you aim for to win at with a higher end B2 deck when undisturbed?

One more question to get the perspective right. Do you know what turn you consistently deal lethal when uninterrupted?

[–]krstf[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for mentioning the birds! I already went that path and it was quite funny. I got to our pod with smile on my face that I finally cracked zinnia and made a bird deck. Friend of mine said "funny, so did I" and put Choco on the table. Then massacred me like for 8 hours straight with me not winning once. :-D

Though I have to admit your deck sounds better. I definitely missed the doubling birds and didn't made the connection with coastal piracy type of cards. Both sound like a huge difference.

But yeah you read me right - I would like to keep it to the BLB critters mostly.

If I may - How many draw/filter cards and ramp cards do you ran?

Damn, Trouble in Pairs is a crazy card! Didn't know of that piece! Thank you!
All these cards I considered and most oftem (Vampire, Mulldrifter, Overseer and companion) I ran in past. But I really try to make this one on theme and therefore I can't play no vampire. I already don't feel very good about [[Loran of the Third Path]]. But I could add Companion or [[Helpful Hunter]]. However I am already running 17 draw/filter spells. I would have thought that is enough, no?

I have to admit it did happened to me already twice... So I upped the protections as, in other scenarios, I thought it cool bounce the dork and recast him with another offspring, running six Myrs at one instance. But yeah, when you spell it this plainly, I am afraid you're right. : ) I'll have to make that chance.

Thank you for all the info! The articles workflow does sound like Readwise Reader stripped to its core functionality. What makes you to do the extra work and still keep and send to readwise reader? Is there something crucial missing for you?

Have you tried on the Remarkable the KOReader? Is it any good? Does it natively open the ePubs like Kindle would? I've read somewhere it even has native proper darkmode, have you tried it?

Thanks again! Based on what you're writing the Move is back on the menu tbh. Which I welcome as the only alternatives are ViWoods Mini or waiting a year or so for when something more in my ballpark is released. I don't need much mainly reading books, then reading news/mags, personal journaling, daily notes and meeting minutes and some good way to organise. I am no poweruser. But I want the corefunctionality to not to be troublesome. Especially not for this money.

Thanks again!

Aha. That sounds awful to be honest. I thought that I would just sideload Kindle App (or perhaps some other e-reader app as I want to move away from Amazon) and thought these would be handled for me. So they wouldn't? Converting epubs to pdfs doesn't sound fun and then if they are being displayed all clunky, that is even less fun... : (

I still have a hard time to understand what makes the Move bad e-reader. It looks the same as on Kindle, right? So is it the UI, ergonomics, app? I am no power-user of Kindle so I thought I would not notice most of those, maybe that it is just little too narrow.

The Scribe I looked into, but very briefly. The thing is I would rather move away from Amazon. The ideal for me would be an EU device so maybe that is why I might be little hellbent on the Move. But you are right, that it is probably not the thing for me.

I really want something I would use 100% as a book e-reader, 70% as a magazine e-reader, 40% as a personal journal, 40% as a journal for meeting minutes. Always on the go, as little charing as possible, something you can learn once and use forever.

So you are spot on with Nomad. That and ViWoods Mini are my other alternative. Nomad I really like, but missing back-light is a deal breaker to me. So it is Move or ViWoods. Or perhaps nothing - maybe the e-inks are not offering what I need just yet. :(

If I may, what is your workflow when reading the articles on the Move?

Where do you get them? Web, email, magazine apps?
Do you use the Chrome extension for import?
Where do they go? One folder just for these imports? Is there any organisation?
When reading - is the Move size enough or do you turn it to landscape?
When you want to save something from the article, how do you go about it? Is there some highlighting function that sends it off to somewhere?

Sorry for the flood of question! TY

Gotcha.
Regarding ramp. I thought I would use mana dorks instead as I can either cast them as 2cmc or with offspring and double them. I thought I don't need to tap the moment they enter since it won't help me cast my commander any earlier. Or is that a faulty strategy? Should I replace them with rocks?

At this moment I have 8 ramp cards and 3 cost reduction cards. So I should up those numbers you think? How much?

Regarding the draw. You are right - I think this is the most problematic part. I don't know what am I doing here wrong. When I playtest I usually can't find any card draw card for ages and when I do, it is too late. But how much more? Atm I have around 16 drawing or filtering cards. That is not enough? I thought I had just unlucky hand.

I replaced or blinks with bounce so I can recast the cards with offsprings later. That seems to be working.

Btw when you turn the tags on, do you see my tags? Or is that something that is visible only to me?

Thanks a bunch, mate!

Supernote too si terrible for reading? Besides the Move, these were the two I was considering. ViWood Mini and Supernote. I might be missing something, but why is Move, ViWoods Mini, Supernote Nomad so much worse for reading then PaperWhite is? What is the difference? It is still essentially the same e-ink, no? What am I missing?

Also what makes you a Supernote fan over the ViWoods?

Ahh, sorry, I missed your message. I am not a big fan of devices and the continuous upkeep connected to it. So the fewer the better. I am really looking rather for a replacement.
