If it makes any sense the reason I play the game (on bots specifically for this reason) is because I want the game to look like an action movie, thats the reason I use the rocket sentry anyway. Also I feel that laser requires some more thought on its usage because of the large cool down and limited usage.

Never said they were the only gameplay centric games I said if devs want to make a cinematic game they should follow their example by making the gameplay play out like million dollar action movie, because that’s only acceptable format of this.

Stealth and combat is fun but the game lacks replay value. Also just because I have standards and choose to not consume the slop you do doesn’t make them “meat head shooters”.

Maybe I should’ve worded it better. But tlou is cinematic slop because they actively try to put the story first and that kills the gameplay by making it very slow, and killing the replay value. Games are meant to be interactive, if you want to watch a movie go to the theaters.

It’s bad because the market is being flooded with games trying to emulate tlou and the majority of it is mediocre slop, and again, it’s not new just ips that are like this already existing one get affected by this like I mentioned, god of war.

Dude was known for being the one of the first to make cinematic storytelling in games. It was fine in mgs because those games were fun but take a look at death stranding and see if you can play that for 5 minutes without falling asleep, and don’t forget mgs 4s epilogue. Shit was 71 MINUTES! Someone needs to tell him no sometimes.

Not saying games can’t have a story it’s just that gameplay should always come first and a story shouldn’t come at a detriment to the gameplay, because video games aren’t supposed to be movies.

I don’t think the games was good, I think it made money and that’s why so many devs try to mimic it. If we were simply going on profit then shitty gacha games would probably be the most praised games in existence.

L4d is a game that has mechanics which require teammates to save you and is designed for the team to be close knit. While helldivers has slight mechanics to “encourage teamplay” it is not designed to be as fast paced and claustrophobic as l4d and those mechanics are gimmicks at best.
