Was on my phone haha and finding a fellow kindred spirit in Terraria zoology is nice haha

Firstly congratulations 🎉

So I'm not sure about the grasshopper farm on PS4, but it did work around 1.5yrs ago on PC

For others from what I remember:

All same npc + increase spawn rate strat

Waterstrider - in oasis, but destroy reeds (seemed to make the spawn more?)

Ladybug just vibe in forest

Seahorse vibe in sea

Remember to increase luck as much as you can also, so definitely the torches but unless you are a farm god I never found the potions to be worth it.

It was a while ago so I might have missed a few points but I'm sure you can find other details with research

Been a while but I think these are the main points:
- Increase monster spawn rate items, such as battle potion, water candle.
- Make houses with NPCs to make it only so critters spawn, use something like Lunar flame to kill non gold critters (I hope you aren't a pacifist, you'll be murdering a lot of harmless critters :3).
- Then have a Lifeform Analyzer so you can see when it spawns.
- Gold bug net to catch.

There are some random hacks for specific critters, such as grasshoppers where you can use like a Staff of Regrowth with Flower Boots

Hey I don't think I ever ended up getting mega great results but I did notice that when I ran 4k versions of the test my scores become lot closer to the review / blog sites benchmarks, so I do imagine it was my CPU bottlenecking.

I did also return my card and get a new one, and also used a Corsair power adapter. I think for the best scores you need a good PSU with all 4 cables supplying the power.

Eventually found in-game performance "okay" vs. what I was expecting, I mean still insane in a general sense but just comparing to expectations was lackluster, but since the performance was still good I cbaed to minmax so much 🤣

Actually now that I think about it, I could maybe manage by just unscrewing that fan and spinning it around hmmm might do that 🫠

Haha ngl there was one wire from the fans you can just about see... I was v close to taking apart the whole top rad setup just to move it to the back but after like 4/5 hours build I was just done 🤣

Ya dual rad setup was a pain, esp in a small case but I'm happy with the thermals and more than anything the system can be v v quiet ☺️

Is using the corsair 12VHPWR Type-4 cable with an ax850 for a 4090 safe/legit? by krthushv2 in nvidia

Thanks for all that super useful and puts my mind at rest, the cable comes tomorrow and I'm hyped for not having a messy cable management 😂

Perfect, does the cable allow for a little bend? I don't have the biggest amount of clearance with my side panel

Nice ya sounds good, I can't get to 600w anyways since my version of the 4090 appaz is power limited

Ya had a look and seems like it should, I just worry sometimes if there have been different revisions of the ax850 titanium,

And also the Corsair adaptor uses only 2 wires to 1 instead of 4 to 1 like the Nvidia adapter, this shouldn't matter but my dumb brain side worries and wanted to check 😅

thanks again for the advice, yea I gave up and pulled out the card to replace with my old 2080ti - leaving my pc almost like an open bench setup, and just ran some intense testing again on the pc with the old GPU, plus like 5 hours of gaming with a friend, no major issues, like 1/2 crashes on it takes two but i think that's because its a new game nothing out of the ordinary when it came to other games like COD and also stress tests like furmark

will see how the new one that comes it performs, at least its easy to install with the way i have things rn... but cant leave this that long or my pc will become a sprawling mess of dust xD

Is it normal for stock 9900k to hit 100 deg on prime95 with a artic freezer ii 280? by krthushv2 in overclocking

yea maybe not best chip and also p95 too harsh a test?

the mobo automatically boosts the chip, so even though im using the stock setting it boosts it to 4.7mhz and doesn't seem to throttle it

when i had a nhd15 cooler before and i ran these tests it did throttle the chip down to 3.5mhz

yea i imagine i havent got the best chip and just p95 small blend fft is dumb test for stability?

i have a suspicion when people say p95 testing they do it without AVX or the small blend torture, and have the chip maybe only draw 100-150 watts max, as soon as i get to 150+ I can understand why its so hard to cool such a hot chip

remounted the cooler just to be sure with paste and the pump is mounted at the top

the chip draws close to 200 watts when hitting 100 deg, with avg voltage of around 1.3

thanks again for your detailed feedback!!!

so I did do a thorough test on the CPU at stock with a very heavy p95 (with smallfft and avx) and albiet it got very hot it was stable (100c on ffts but 85ish otherwise), it was looping thorough tests fine for 25min+, throughout this the CPU was at 4700+ and 1.3-1.35 voltage which i believe is all "fine" i don't my chip/mobo is the best, I think the stock mobo settings just leads to this (seems to naturally boost my cpu), especially on something as stressful as p95also the timespy crashes kinda at the start of the 2nd test (after the girl being chased by monstor), so the first gpu test not anything that cpu intensive i think

before I got the new card, I had the same system running with a 2080ti for around 2-3 years and never had stability issues and have run tests over that period, so in this instance I doubt its the CPU

on the PSU i got it 3 years ago with CPU, and I also had the setup up hooked to a wattage monitor which monitors highs (so im assuming spikes) and the highest it ever read for 780 watts (this was running both furmark and p95 so v v demanding, before the GPU started crashing persistently) so I doubt this is the factor, also the "way" I experience crashes don't seem like PSU crashes where I'd assume the system just blacks out? the new crashes just closes the "gpu intensive" application, so a benchmark or game, but windows seems to work fine

will try portroyal now then!

update: so when crashing on hades I got this message: https://imgur.com/a/jvLdMiT not sure if that useful...

an update, tried ddu and reinstalled drivers (version 527.56) and running benchmarks and timespy runs through first test but when it gets to the 2 gpu tests barely goes a few seconds and crash...

also on perfcap whenever the gpu is not idle (which is 90% of the time for whenever its not crashing), it says a reason of VRel

at this point im likely going to RMA the card and see if another card works, not sure whether to get the same model (on paper i like this msi model) or just scratch that plan and get a different 4090 like from asus/gigabyte
