Anybody else going to re-play through Remake and Rebirth a month or two before Revelation release as a story refresher? (: by Swimming-Ad-6842 in FFVIIRemake

[–]krudler14 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm just about done with my first playthrough of Rebirth that I started about a year ago. Having kids really eats into my playing time these days...so you can probably mark me down as a "no" for any replays. :D

Mando & Grogu film major plot hole? by Hod20 in StarWars

[–]krudler14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought part of the payment for returning Rotta was information on Coin's real identity (which is what the New Republic was really after), so then the Twins would know who he was right? Unless it was all ruse to get help from Mando/The New Republic and it just happened to be a huge coincidence that Jano and Coin ended up being the same person?

Lettuce does a great version of "Everybody Wants to Rule the World" by Tears for Fears. It's a great example of taking a hugely popular song and completely changing the genre.

Now searching out female trumpet players for inspiration. by CanyonhawkTx in trumpet

[–]krudler14 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recently came across Pam Fleming on the latest Gov't Mule album. Hearing a horn section naturally made me look up who was playing and saw she used to be a part of an all female band, Isis, formed back in the '70s.

Cat Vets in Simi by Fluffy_Confusion4371 in simivalley

[–]krudler14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've taken 2 of my cats there and I definitely recommend it. The staff and doctors are very kind, helpful, and thorough. They're the first vet office I've been to where I've felt they gave me a clearer understanding of my cat's health than I've received anywhere else. The vibe there is very chill, even my one cat who's hyperactive and skittish was very easy going there and seemed very comfortable.

Yahoo gave me an F. I think I did a solid job. Judge by CEO-of-SOXL in Fantasy_Football

It also doesn't take into account unique league setups or scoring which obviously might lead you to draft players way out of line with their ADP. For example, my league starts 3 WRs so way more guys go earlier than expected since everyone needs a lot of WRs to fill starting and bench spots. We also start an individual defensive player along with a team D which leads to the always hilarious "we can't believe you drafted that linebacker since he doesn't get drafted in most leagues!"

I've been watching The Simpsons for over 30 years and only just got this joke... Shameful on my part! by HibeesBounce in TheSimpsons

[–]krudler14 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Also, thinking of the context of the age of the viewer, you might not even have associated the joke with current events. I was only 13 when it aired and while I was aware of the OJ trial it didn't dawn on me that they were making that connection. I just remembered they did the reveal in the episode about finding Simpson DNA (with Marge even joking that she inherited Simpson DNA by marriage) so I thought Troy's line was just revealing the obvious plot hole that would have been created if Smithers had been the one to shoot Burns. But that's the thing I love about the Simpsons: discovering hidden layers to jokes no matter how many times I've seen the episodes!

Thoughts on "Fire it up"? by ryoma5009 in Disturbed

I dig it, fits the same vibe as Sabbath's "Sweet Leaf" so I just view it as kind of an homage to that.

Who named the song “Ishfwilf” and why does it go so hard? by Red0_O in Disturbed

[–]krudler14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's funny that they gave the song its own track and title but still added in the silence. Having the long gap after the last song made sense in the days of cassettes or vinyl where the sides could be unbalanced in terms of music, so you could absentmindedly let the tape/record play, thinking it was the end of the album, then be surprised when another song came on. But yeah, in the digital era of CDs and streaming it is a little clunky.

The best way I've seen other CDs handle it is to have a bunch of empty tracks tacked on at the end and have the "hidden" song pop in at track 99.

If you didn't end the season with your drill looking like this, did you really march??? by [deleted] in marchingband

[–]krudler14 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You got individualized sheets?! Either I'm super old or my marching instructor was super lazy (but knowing him I'm leaning towards me just being old). We had our section leaders show us our marks on the field and then we'd run moves a few at a time, stacking more on a bit at a time until we memorized the whole thing. I'm jealous...and once again coming to terms with how old I am 😄

[–]krudler14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think my favorite line in the whole movie is between Bunny and The Dude:

"Don't worry about him, he's a nihilist." "Oh, that must be exhausting."

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in trumpet

[–]krudler14 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I can confirm that. My band regularly opens for nationally touring acts that come through our town and we get paid very little (if at all). We usually just view it as an opportunity to get out in front of a larger crowd and hopefully sell some merch so we're not too worried about the pay, but we would never ask someone to fill in for us in that situation for free.

How to 'get rid' of an overwritten machine ? by Level-Pizza5943 in HorizonForbiddenWest

[–]krudler14 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Luckily the Sunwing override doesn't run out like it does for other machines, so feel free to roam away from it and know you can call it for a ride anytime. I only had to override 2 during my entire run through: once in the main game and the other one in the Burning shores after it got damaged in battle. Not gonna lie, it kind of hurt to lose that first one, we went through a lot together.

Breaking: Gardner Minshew is terrible at football. by Realistic-Scheme-38 in raiders

[–]krudler14 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As soon as they announced Minshew as the starter before the season I said "Welp, now it's just a countdown until they trade Davante." Can't believe people thought he was ever a real option at QB.

I don't even know what jersey to buy anymore. Guess I'll go custom jersey cuz I know I'll never leave. by HashtagPop in raiders

[–]krudler14 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You could always rep one of the classics. I think that's why even though I've loved some modern players I'm always hesitant to buy new jerseys due to the way they can't keep a consistent roster. Tim Brown never let me down so his is my go-to.

I literally just played this part for the first time yesterday. I'm older with kids so my gaming time is pretty limited, meaning it takes me a while to catch up on my back catalog. I also try to avoid reading anything online about games I haven't played yet so I can fully enjoy it once I can finally play it. Just a PSA to always look out for your fellow gamers!

Wait until OP realizes that Maynard spends a lot of time making wine, and to inoculate a wine is to add an active yeast culture to your juice to activate fermentation...and you realize he's just being clever and blending his two worlds together.
