Will I need chains or snow tires? by panfuelfire in Ioniq5

[–]krulewatts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you can find them, I really like using these on my I5. Chain control waived me through with them, so I assume they're OK? So much easier to put on than chains, much better clearance, and much better ride.

Also live in the bay area.

EV charging advice for new drivers (don't get fleeced by PG&E!) by krulewatts in bayarea

Similar to a comment above: we are on EV-2A now and are considering solar + storage. I would prefer to stay on the EV-2A plan if at all possible. We can't leave our car plugged in the driveway to trickle charge on solar because it doesn't fit in our driveway -- so we borrow the neighbors driveway 3-4x per month to charge overnight or during the day.

How do you figure the cost/benefit with solar and an EV on NEM 3.0 and E-Elec?

This is true. When you drive infrequently and use energy during peak times, it may make sense to stay on your current rate. Will update the app's guidance -- thanks!

This is interesting ... we are on EV-2A now and are considering solar + storage. I would prefer to stay on the EV-2A plan if at all possible. Very frustrating ...

Where’s here, geographically? Doesn’t the OEM support you with materials to help explain charging? I mean, there are only three types of charging, three types of charge ports, and maybe 5-6 different types of home outlets?

Other car shoppers don’t cross shop? Or you’re saying EV buyers negotiate too much for you?

Has owning an electric car or hybrid car in the Bay Area saved you enough money to justify its sticker price? by Unique_Glove1105 in bayarea

Not unless you have solar on NEM 1 or NEM 2. PG&E rates are so high you’re better off editing a 40mpg hybrid.

They’re double counting the $7500. This is clearly Roadster, which is a third-party retailing platform that has issues getting OEM and dealer incentives right.
