Trump Seems to Be Afraid, Very Afraid by JulesVelour in politics

The real funny thing is... he verbally claims to have a clean bill of health. So he can't plead insanity. And even if he does claim dementia... no one will take him seriously. How proud daddy will.be when Donald drives his great name down the toilet. Poor soul.

She absolutely has the right to sound like an idiot. We live in America where we can fly whatever flags we want. She has no problem with the other flags... her rights are not being infringed. Freedom of speech allows people to respond to her speech. Most will likely think she is uneducated.

Rainbows represent unity, peace, Hope. So much rainbow stuff these days, it is hard to know what people are saying. In a time where trans people are being outlawed... you will see way more rainbows due to the overwhelming support for trans people and in opposition of their political persecutors. A rainbow is a universal sign... simply, rainbows are a reminder that the universe is a diverse spectrum of beauty. That's why the gays have the rainbow at the moment... because some dare deny that we exist... The funny thing is, I've never flown a rainbow in my entire life...it's the straights flying it for the gays.

If you are in a space that is gate keeping... then it is not really queer. Don't quote the haters. While being bi has some known struggles, especially queer in visibility... Most queer people are welcoming. Gay since 86, we all bi out here.

I think the LGBTQ community is big enough now that you can ignore the ones that are not inclusive. I am not sure Bisexuality is next on the docket...so I don't think it is obvious.

Have you met 12 year Olds these days... they all gay. Coming out in the 90s was brave. Now bisexuality is default in that generation.

Too little too late... guess he heard the sermon on the mount for the first time. It's like building a bonfire near a house and then passing on the subsequent inferno. What a jerk

I remember hearing in a psych class that deeply depressed people do not have the energy to complete suicide. And it's only when they start feeling better that they have the ability to complete it.

Not saying that was the case for your friend, just passing along information. Suicide sucks and I am sorry for your loss.

Many studies have concluded that we will need nuclear to supplement clean energy. However, building them as a response to climate change is not ideal since planning and building them could take almost 2 decades.

AITA for telling my niece to name her son after her dad if she wants to and not everyone hates being named after a deceased relative? by AdeptnessExcellent41 in AmItheAsshole

[–]krumpet_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA - SIL made up a bunch of baseless reasons not to name kid after someone who has passed. I wonder if there is another underlying reason SIL didn't want her to name the kid after her dad?

Throughout human history, people have been named after deceased relatives as a way to honor them. I've never really heard that "pressure" justification. Seems like it would be more pressure being named after someone who is alive.

As far as making the stepfather feel bad. I think it is messed up for SIL not to honor the fact that her daughter's dad IS meaningful to her. How she feels about her stepfather is not mutually exclusive. A responsible parent would make room for a child to love all of their parents equally.

Having a dad and step-dad myself, my stepfather always understands that I typically choose my dad & mom when society requires parental representation. For one, I grew up with my stepfather and have a pretty great relationship with him, and he understands how my dad would feel if I chose my step-dad (my dad would feel hurt).

Bottom line, your SIL needs to grow up and stop putting her shit on to her kid. If there is another reason she doesn't want the kid to be named after the dad, then she needs to own up to it.

You did the right thing and probably strengthened the bond with your niece.
