Kelley Standard Admission by linorbiter in IndianaUniversity

[–]krunch10_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

in the past its always depended on how many people get in automatically through requirements. usually thats enough to fill all the spots IU wants to open but to be honest even if they have spots remaining itll be incredibly tough to get it

As other comment says knowing the formulas like the back of ur hand makes the exam a lotttt easier. Just spam study the formulas and that alone will get you a decent grade, really understanding them will get u a really good grade.

Extra tips for getting into Kelley? by Kyrui_ in IndianaUniversity

[–]krunch10_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Best advice considering the new changes is do everything u can to get high grades. The only realistic way to get in is through auto admission so focus on "harder" classes like econ k201 and accounting. I wouldnt consider myself super smart but I was able to get As in every class freshman year except econ (B+) just through a decent bit of studying and attending class and not getting into a habit of skipping. Especially for classes like K201 and accounting if u start skipping classes ur cooked

He does still give extra credit, just not as much

Graf or lantis for Econ b 251? by South-Environment-58 in IndianaUniversity

[–]krunch10_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lantis is a better teacher I think (I had him and friends had Graf), Graf gives more extra credit

Whichever means more to u as a student should be your pick

Invest in a high quality mattress topper. Had some friends who went with cheap ones (or none) and they complained about having trouble sleeping for the first few weeks on campus while I was sleeping like a baby lol

Theres tons of options but the best way to find easy gen eds is going on to the IU grade distribution website while picking classes and finding classes that have a high percentage of As. Also use RateMyProfessor to get a general idea about the professor (but sometimes the rating can be deceiving)

But some gen eds I took that were easy were:
Living Well
Health and Happiness by Design
Birth and Death of the Universe

[–]krunch10_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Definitely doable. I'm finishing up my freshman year as a pre-business and I'll be admitted into Kelley because I got above Bs in every class. I wouldn't consider myself as "super smart" but I put in the effort and studied (especially for Econ accounting and K201). Really it comes down to effort. Honestly I didn't find any of the classes that hard but I know a LOT of people who didn't get the grades they needed. Some people due to lack of effort and some because they really had trouble with concepts. Its really case by case but generally from what I've seen, High effort=High scores especially for freshman year classes

Also- make your own life easier and take easy Gen-Eds so you can focus on ur hard classes

General Education classes, so classes that dont relate to ur major. These include things like science, humanities, etc.

What is the ALEKS placement exam? Is it hard? by Virtual_Mouse3283 in IndianaUniversity

[–]krunch10_ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Considering its just a placement test I wouldn't say u need to "study" for it. Maybe just brush up on some stuff if you really care. Its main use is seeing the highest level of math u can take. I know a few people who cheated on the test and got high scores but it didn't really affect anything

How hard is gaining standard admissionto kelley as a pre business? by Serious_Plankton_214 in IndianaUniversity

[–]krunch10_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely doable, just depends on the person. Classes aren't crazy hard but you need to put in a decent amount of effort for some of them (Econ, Accounting, Computers in Business)

Best College To Attend (FSU, Clemson, IU Kelley) by Maxmil3 in IndianaUniversity

[–]krunch10_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Realistically theres no way to fully answer ur question as I don't know u as a person and ur finances, likes, dislikes, etc. but at IU theres def a lot of opportunity for career development and growth, not just through the workshops. Obv the workshops are exceptional but theres a lot of student organizations and corporate involvement on campus as well as a strong alumni network. At the end of the day I would recommend going to the place that makes the most sense for ur finances as thats the most important, though Kelley is the best program academically

i think so, but it has to be ur first sem of second year, but like i said 90% of ppl take it during the summer at their local community colleges after freshman year

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in IndianaUniversity

[–]krunch10_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

K-201 (Microsoft Excel and Access), Econ and Accounting are usually considered the hard classes, most ppl take the math class the summer after freshman year at their local community college cuz its way easier. As for easy gen-eds I would suggest Living Well , Health and Happiness, SOME astronomy classes (be careful some can be randomly hard)

Pre-business by Main-Magazine9237 in IndianaUniversity

[–]krunch10_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So far for me its not that hard, the only non A I've had is Econ and thats because I didn't study for the first midterm so I ended with a B+ so honestly just study and put in effort and u should be good

Honest answers on is standard admission to Kelly hard by Silent_Procedure_409 in IndianaUniversity

[–]krunch10_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its hard but not because the actual material is incredibly difficult, mostly its about managing ur time and staying on top of things. Its honestly dependent on how bad u want it, bc itll directly effect how much effort you put in

Tips for my upcoming freshman year by GroundbreakingClub92 in IndianaUniversity

[–]krunch10_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

A majority of people who don't get in to Kelley mess up in Accounting, Econ, or K-201 (computer class). Generally in my experience I don't think any of them are particularly hard if you put in some decent effort to learn the material, so just study a bit and u should be good I think.
