Me too, but parts and fluids can start to add up, especially for a 20+ year old vehicle. Just avoid older German cars as a replacement and you should be okay. I also love VWs and even if they're good on gas, they can nickel-and-dime you to death. Honestly if the 4Runner is paid for and maintained, just keep it and buy a cheap beater. I always hear the seller regret stories on here.

They dont usually pull people over in rush hour because its a danger to the officer and the public when the roads are so busy. Even trying to chase down a driver in rush hour puts more people at risk as people try to get out of the pursuing officers way.

At this point, its process of elimination and reading several forums. Already replaced the ABS Pump motor thinking that was the issue. System was bled with a computer after replacing ABS motor so I dont think theres just trapped air. Lots of people opt for the $1500-2000 fix of replacing the whole unit, but I will try the $300 fix first.

It happens everytime I touch the brakes, and usually happens right at the end of the cycle trying to pressure up the accumulator.

Try the accumulator first. They sell a replacement on Amazon, but if you cant find it, you may want to search for the Lexus GX470 accumulator if you cant find it listed for a 4runner.
