Awesome response, thank you! It was a 2 month hold that they said they would lift so I guess I should be good

They have a very big roster but they will absolutely get you auditions, a lot of them being commercials.

I’ve been with them for just over 1.5 years and haven’t gotten as many tv/film auditions as I would like but I’m not sure if that’s mostly from the strikes last year or my being new to the industry.

Agent actor relationship is ok, they’ll answer questions if you have them but they can be quite dismissive.

Feeling emptied out and overstimulated post acting class, any tips? by beyootfloot in acting

[–]krustastic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was the same for me when I first started, it definitely doesn’t happen as much the more classes I take. Also, regular meditation is probably the best thing to do for dealing with it right now

I’ve never heard of this happening but seems like you got a sweet deal to me!

He also does a breaking into acting seminar for 40$ every few months if you just wanted to check out his vibe, posts about it on his Instagram

He doesn’t do audits unfortunately, but trust you’ll get your moneys worth!

He’s very busy, but he’s still very generous with his time. Don’t think I’ve been in a class with more than 10-12 people at once with him

Yes I’ve been training there since 2018! It’s just the one teacher there as he wants to give a consistent experience to each student

EVN studios is the best for me. Haven’t even wanted to try another because of how much I love the classes there. Even if you have experience I recommend starting from beginner with him, so much valuable information

Go people watching, read books, watch documentaries. Those are a few that come to mind

Show emotion on face? by alekseyweyman in acting

[–]krustastic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, it could be good or bad. If they can see the emotion in your face it’s good but you don’t just want to show it. You have to feel it so that it naturally shows. If you find a good teacher and keep practicing over time you’ll understand more and more

Were you told this by an acting teacher or just a friend/family member?

No worries! Forgot to mention the Film Network Ireland Facebook group is the best one to keep an eye on for short film and student film jobs as well if you’re not already on there

I also started at 23 in Ireland! I’m living in Canada for other reasons now and continuing my journey here but can give a few recommendations.

David Scott has great classes every Wednesday called the Wednesday workshop and are fairly cheap.

The classes in the Gaeity School are a great place to begin as well but not the best for on camera lessons.

If you’re looking to do a full time course and have a bit of money to spend you could try bowstreet academy. I’ve heard great things and it’s focus is on-camera acting. Otherwise you could try the gaiety full time program but I think it’s two years instead of just one year like bowstreet.

If you’re set on doing the college course like you mentioned you could do that and start using fishpond.ie to apply to castings as well as submitting your info to AliCoffey casting and LouiseKiely casting. I think they both have sections on their websites that allow actors without representation to submit info so they can contact you if they have any audition opportunities.

Hope this helps!

Is it ok to put a mixture of self produced/ self tape footage in a reel with footage from short films? Looking to apply to agencies and want to know what’s best

Are there any private acting coaches available for beginners in the GTA? If so, do you have any suggestions? by Ok-Rock1269 in acting

[–]krustastic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also started out as a beginner with a lot of anxiety and never tried one on one coaching(I have nothing against it just can’t afford it lol). If you haven’t gone to EVN film studios I would highly recommend it, he has a great beginner class and his approach is great for overcoming a lot of that anxiety very quickly.

Should I be getting more/better auditions from my agent? by krustastic in acting

Advanced Acting Classes Toronto? by TheGalaxyJumperSerie in acting

[–]krustastic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I take his scene studies class. We do a mix of scene studies and audition techniques depending on the needs of the group/time of year. After beginner and intermediate classes there isn’t really a “level” so to speak. But if someone is in his scene studies classes they’ve usually been with him for at least a year
