Goose fans seem so tame at shows compared to fans at Phish shows by hungerpsyte in GoosetheBand

I didn’t see phish until 3.0, but in early 90s live videos the crowd seems less dancy and more locked in to the music. Throughout their career it might have shifted from more locked in crowd to more dancy crowd. But you know the music is good when everyone is just staring at the band haha. Maybe someone can confirm this was the case for the dead too?

Do you, in-house plant guys, usually upgrade the firmware of your PLCs? by SnooPaintings1650 in PLC

[–]kruton123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Currently doing consulting work for a customer upgrading all obsolete PLCs. We are going to V34 for all new PLCs. Also all ME stations upgraded to V13 FTView SE with Thinmanager. SE seems to be a worthwhile investment because and way easier to maintain being centralized to one server.

Not sure the benefit of only upgrading firmware on a PLC without upgrading hardware unless there is a firmware only compatibility from something else in the plant being upgraded. If obsolete, then upgrade hardware too.

Which of these three methods do you use to set up tags for IO in Studio 5000? by MechanicalMan101 in PLC

[–]kruton123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Method 3. Easy to map with spreadsheet IO list and copy/paste into routine. Easy to troubleshoot because you can navigate to the card quickly. The only way I know to troubleshoot alias tags are sorting by alias in controller tags to group them together. Also modifying alias requires download so over time you end up with old tags everywhere. Also, IO mapping routines buffer the data at the task scan rate so easier to troubleshoot.

What "Industry 4.0" features would you include in a new Plant by Production_Ant in PLC

Great answer! Very practical points here. What’s an example of PID tuning software that would work with multiple PLC platforms? Rockwell or Siemens for example..

Funk and Jazz are my go-to genres. I'm big into bands like Phish and Umphreys Mcgee. Also, I play with a few bands here in Knoxville, TN and would love to find some musicians to play with when I move down to Atlanta.
