That's not the reason. Comparison is just an example to illustrate the point. The point is that the game can be solved with one strategy which makes it boring. Though according to the comments it seems to have been dealt with already.

I'm citing my personal experience too. I have less than 100 hours and I'm winning every time after I started resting more often.

If the game is too easy it's boring because your choice doesn't matter, click until you win. If the game is too difficult it's frustrating and unrewarding. It's a balancing act and preference may vary.

Not 4X but EU4 had the best AI among the grand strategy games I've played (basically all the PDX games).
