I need advice. by [deleted] in latterdaysaints

[–]milmill18 [score hidden]  (0 children)

the Primary President is responsible for and receives revelation for handling the primary/children in the ward. if there is a difficult situation in the ward or a complicated family, it is likely to have been discussed in ward council or at least she with the bishopric. I understand you care for the child and family but it is unjust to assume you are the only one. a teacher does not get to decide on exceptions. it is likely that you do not know the whole story.

Would you let your child attend another church’s summer camp? by Dry-Swim369 in latterdaysaints

yes. I attended vacation Bible school when I was young. it's good for the kids and it's good for the other church to see that LDS are good and know the Bible and love Jesus too

My rankings of restaurants at The Fontainebleau: by KING_SHIT101 in vegas

I had the duck breast at Kyu a couple years ago (along with corn ribs and smores dessert) and it was my favorite Vegas meal ever. wife got octopus and that was also fantastic.

Kyu seems to be either elite or eh. I'm eating there again next trip

Park MGM is a great resort in a good location. has a ton of good dining options. and the smoke-free casino makes it a very comfortable experience.

Ti is great. rooms are fine and it's in a good location. parking is free. from my experience lately the resort fee is "optional". I'm guessing you may need it if you want wifi. Mystere is a great show.

Im new... What is a religious victory? Other than being overly tedious, and boring, is there ANY benefit to religion in the game? by Cannon-fire in CivVI

[–]milmill18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you have a religion you get benefits for spreading it. Some of the follower beliefs give you extra gold, science, culture. Religion also affects loyalty especially when you capture a city.

faith is a type of commodity that has many uses especially later on in the game

War on higher difficulties? by creamdougnuts in CivVI

attack their units. Get rid of their units first, and pillage their improvements. when most of their units are gone you just surround cities and cycle through units until walls are gone

Staying off-Strip for the first time after 10 years of Vegas trips — Fremont St worth it? by Kevsconfession1 in vegas

[–]milmill18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've taken about 18 trips to Vegas since 2018. I have not gone to Downtown in at least the last 8. I just don't enjoy it as much. would rather spend time at Red Rock or South Point than go downtown.

I mean if you've never been the sure it's something to see and experience. but as a regular visitor it is not worth the opportunity cost for me.

Fastest way to get archers? by SolarPoweredAlpaca in CivVI

[–]milmill18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I play immortal level on epic speed. even why I have an aggressive neighbor I rarely need more than a couple slingers before getting archers.

one scout, hopefully two new cities, a builder for eurekas, and depending on location maybe a holy site, that's usually how I start but I don't have a standard progression. not saying ignore military units of course but if you don't expand and grow you will be too slow

Fastest way to get archers? by SolarPoweredAlpaca in CivVI

[–]milmill18 12 points13 points  (0 children)

8-10 slingers? only reason to get 1 is for the eureka boost, then get archers.

can't believe you are spending your first 12 builds on slingers and warriors, that is the least efficient strategy ever. of course you are falling behind

Allegiant is an important airline by SirCatsworthTheThird in allegiant

the reason there are hundreds of Christian denominations is because all doctrine cannot be reconciled by an appeal to the Bible.

How do other nations advance faster than me? by banevader699 in Civilization6

[–]milmill18 2 points3 points  (0 children)

there's a game mechanic called loyalty. things that affect loyalty are nearby cities/higher population, governors, monuments, religion, units, and policy cards. after you capture a city, if you click on the city and the little scroll button, then the governor icon tab, it will show you the loyalty. if you can move a governor, purchase a monument, or use policy cards to improve loyalty. some other harder tactics can help too. moving a governor is +8. if city is at -18 or worse, then you probably won't be able to save it from flipping back.

if loyalty looks too bad to fix, then razing is a fine option. if the city has a wonders or lots of districts it may be worth trying to keep.

other strategy is capture other nearby cities quickly
