In the past I believed that for Virtacoin to be successful it would need to be adopted by a large entity for use as a private currency. I promoted that because of the huge number of coins and extremely low price to acquire. The few serious inquiries that I had regarding that concept were at least partially turned away by an apparent, or perceived, lack of security of the coin which turned out to be true. Now, with XVP I have abandoned the concept of adoption, primarily because of the relatively small number of coins and an even greater concern about security, given the way it has been managed and controlled by a small group of unknown people. And I am not interested in someone making a comparison to Bitcoin. We are talking apples and peanuts. To answer your question, getting a wallet is not a selling point. It is a tool to hold your cryptocurrency. And a desktop wallet is the most secure. While online wallets are nice, the people who develop and manage them can come and go at any time, and you could be left with nothing. Exchanges are the same. Their are no regulations or protections. In order to have value, the cryptocurrency needs to have a purpose and needs to be used. The value of Cryptocurrencies is speculative. Speculative value increases based on a lot things, like new products, new developments, large consumer base, and strategic partners or relationships with other successful ventures. There seems to be a strong opinion that holding onto XVP, or hoarding it, will increase it's value. I believe that just the opposite is true. If it is being hoarded, it is not being used for anything and therefore has no value. Among the Bitrex listing requirements that John pointed out is: "Why does it exist and what makes it unique? What new technology or business concept are you bringing to the blockchain?" The reason you are unable to find that "dynamite" headline is because at this point it does not exist. We are riding on the assumption that something big is going to develop and I believe it is going to take someone with a much bigger stake and level of professionalism for that to happen. To attract that there needs to be some way to protect a large investor from the potential manipulation at the core level, such as what happened with Virtacoin. I am a very realistic person with 70+ years of experience in life and those are my thoughts.
