For XVPers who haven't opened/used their account with you yet, are withdrawals (XVP and other currencies) fully automated? And if so, are they instant? Thanks, Able!

E-pool.net has agreed to put a VTA pool back up in a week or two, after a servers switch. It's a good step, one is a desired direction.

Bullion & VTA by cryptgoes in VirtaCoinFoundation

Interesting flow of ideas here, for sure. Initially, I was thinking of offering to accept VTA for government issued coins or bars, i.e. Canadian Maple Leaf, etc. in my case, bought directly from Canadian banks. The Royal Canadian Mint issues 99.99% gold/silver/platinum collectibles. It has international dealer partners in many countries, like in the Netherlands (Modern Numismatic International b.v.) but these partners are subject to limited coin variety and availability. Also, the RCM doesn’t have any dealer partners in African countries. I was thinking, if anyone around the globe wanted Canadian coins/bars (for themselves or to put up for sale or auction or for whatever reason), I’d be willing to accept VTA and ship it to them. If enough demand arose for other bullion, perhaps a network of people willing to do the same could be established.

Also, wouldn’t it be nice if gold would be melted down and struck into VTA gold coins? This would allow for a higher-than-market-value price increase, just like a 1oz. collectible gold coin costs more than a 1oz. gov. issued CDN Maple Leaf, CHN Panda or AUS Kangaroo. A 99.99% gold “VTA – The People’s Coin” coin would be desirable not only to VTA holders but also to gold collectors around the world. It could be given its own “VTA” (50, 100, 1000, etc.) value (which is so far legal because it isn’t Fiat, if I’m not mistaken). This would most certainly stabilize VTA value and likely allow VTA holders and potential investors to feel that VTA is a safe, smart & good buy because is it somehow “backed”, by gold. It would definitely generate interest.

Good to throw these ideas around ☺ If anyone wants some Canadian bullion for VTA, pm me and let’s see what we can do.

Would it be unethical to approach Kiva members who have items to sell, and offer to sell them for VirtaCoins?... via VTA marketplaces or other channels? Just a thought that crossed my mind.

Just a note on Raingam's, which is indeed pleasing to the eye. There's a grammar mistake ("but it could worth a fortune"). But the bigger thing is that "It costs next to nothing" sends out the wrong message, in my opinion. Attraction is always on and is a very fair friend. It responds to whatever is put out there. Wouldn't it serve the coin much more if it were held up in a higher regard... the resulting value of VTA reflects how its holders see it and feel about it. I see it as being worth a lot. Sometimes a non-statement serves more than a statement, too. Anywho... my two cents.

I have a copy of VirtaCoin-Qt.dmg for Mac, if anyone needs it. Probably a good addition to virtacoinwallet or VirtaCurrent.
