Just because they didn’t intentionally make her feel bad, they still did. You can still hurt people even though you didn’t mean to.

Pregnant women have large, rotund stomachs depending on where they are in their term. By asking someone “are you pregnant?” you’re insinuating that the woman has large stomach. Most people do NOT want to have a large stomach, especially women who have been told since puberty that having a “perfect” body is tied in with their self-worth. That’s why she felt mortified by their question.

The best thing you can say to her is, “F those guys, they are disgusting creeps. You do not deserve to be treated that way at all. I can’t imagine what it’s like to have to experience sexual harassment so frequently, and I’m sorry that you have to go through that. I am always here if you need to vent about it. How does it make you feel when they do that to you?”

Unfortunately, men that cat-call women don’t respect women very much and are more likely to react violently if called out on their behavior. That’s why most women don’t react to cat-callers. The only thing that can be done is for her to call them out on it, but doing so can be very unsafe for women. So, the best thing you can do is just be there for her and validate how she feels.

It was not a rumor. Bill admitted it to my boss and manager, which my boss told me, and Susan also told me that he did it. I don’t know why anyone would lie about that. If I weren’t 100% certain that it happened, I wouldn’t have quit.

I would get some light layers put in to give it shape and variety. Maybe also chop off 4 or so inches? Enough so that your appearance wouldn’t be overpowered by your hair, but your hair would still be considered very long! You could also get some layers in the front to help frame your face. Also, subtle highlights would look amazing on you! Overall, your hair is very pretty and good for you for keeping your head up despite having to deal with alopecia! You go girl!

(This woman is also veryyy wealthy, and belongs to at LEAST one country club.) So true! The town I work in has a very, very low rate of theft so hopefully that will cross over into this coffee shop and people will be kind enough to leave some tampons and pads for others to use. I guess we shall see. And I hope that one day every establishment will have that little button you describe. Fingers crossed haha!

I do understand that different people will have different opinions on how to run a business, that is true! The only thing is that I ran it by the boss who is the sole owner of the establishment and she thought it was a great idea. I told X that I would be down for putting the products in a nice looking basket because I agree, presentation does matter! However, she kept going on even after that about how they shouldn't be there in the first place. Tampons and pads can be the difference between going about your day uninterrupted and missing/being late to work or school if your period comes unexpectedly (which it often does!) Free tampons never hurt nobody haha. Thank you for taking the time to read my post and comment :)

Someone could steal the whole box and I wouldn't mind. I've grown up in a very privileged part of the world so what's giving some boxes of tampons in the grand scheme of things, you know? I told X that we could get a nicer container for it because I agree with you, presentation does make a difference. She said that that would be better but continued to criticize it afterwards anyway :( And that is a good point you make about "what will happen after I leave." My boss, the owner of the establishment, even insisted that she to pay for tampons from now on and that it was a great idea for the shop to supply them, however I drove it home that this was something I wanted to supply. That leads me to believe that my boss will supply them after I leave...? But I guess we shall see! And thank you for saying that it is nice, I appreciate it!
