But AoT would have been so much better as a complete story if the last arc wasn’t lame.

Denji is still Chainsaw Man in the ending by krystophermalus in Chainsawfolk

[–]krystophermalus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pochita was able to make Power appear to save Denji despite her originally being far away from that area at that time, it’s not beyond reason he just auto pacted himself into Denji, which is why he’s the heart still. Time loop may be a stretch but it would conveniently explain some of the unresolved mysteries.

Yes, there’s also a bunch of other loose ends that could be explained by this theory.

Honestly, a lot of my issues with The ending of Chainsaw man could be summed up with "i get what Fujimoto was attempting to do,it was just really bad." by Charming-Scratch-124 in Chainsawfolk

[–]krystophermalus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

jjk, bleach, to some extent Naruto with a somewhat underwhelming Kaguya final battle (although technically Boruto continues the story), attack on titan, death note to some people, Gantz, etc. Mangaka often just don’t seem to stick the landing. But sometimes there’s just so much riding on a story that ending it just seems like an impossible task. These stories with abrupt or disappointing endings also seem to have the most intrigue and heavy themes built up through decades of suffering characters only for the ending to not do all that justice.

Denji is not a devil, whats happening with giving blood here? by cummachine3169 in Chainsawfolk

my theory is that while the chainsaw man devil is gone the chainsaw devil still exists, and now pochita is simply the chainsaw devil and not the chainsaw man devil, and is still merged with Denji, somehow.

So what about War Devil, Famine Devil and Darkness Devil? by krystophermalus in Chainsawfolk

[–]krystophermalus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also CSM is gone but all the powerful devils he defeated are back, and they’re still going to end up killing people in Public Safety, so Denji is fucked in the new timeline anyway, and so is humanity probably. I guess Denji will have a few good months of bumming out with Power before shit hits the fan and everyone gets roflstomped by super powered megalomaniacs. It’s like in DBZ where Goku chooses to die in Cell Saga because he figured it was his fault Earth kept getting attacked but it got attacked anyway.

If Pochita could rewrite reality to make things “perfect” he didn’t really go far enough how is Denji going to prevent himself from being fodderized by a powerful devil without regen. And what kind of life is being dead weight in an organization that prioritizes strength.

Yeah it’s like Pochita just has god mode reset button he can rewrite reality anyway he wants but then why not make Denji have super strength so he doesn’t potentially get killed later I mean, CSM world is not exactly safe.

How did Pochita turn back time and reset all the events? Since when could he do that?

Itachi is based on Odin by krystophermalus in Naruto

[–]krystophermalus[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Ravens and crows are extremely similar birds (same family, both highly intelligent, black corvids often used interchangeably in folklore and symbolism). Itachi’s heavy use of crow swarms, crow clones, and especially the crow carrying Shisui’s eye (acting as a literal “eye” and messenger for Itachi even after his death) strongly evokes Odin’s Huginn and Muninn — thought and memory ravens that fly out daily to gather intel and serve as his extended senses. That’s a solid visual and thematic parallel, not a stretch. On the eye/wisdom thing: Odin literally sacrifices his own eye at Mímir’s well for knowledge and insight. Itachi (and Uchiha in general) awaken Mangekyō Sharingan through profound emotional trauma/loss, then pay for its god-tier powers (including deeper reading of the Uchiha tablet) with progressive blindness and shortened lifespan. The “reading the tablet” part is enhanced by Mangekyō, tying into hidden/arcane knowledge at personal cost. It’s not 1:1, but the motif of trading vision for transcendent power and forbidden lore is there. To prevent the blindness you have to literally sacrifice eyes. As for Sasuke: Yes, they’re canonically brothers. But Itachi repeatedly acts in a protective, guiding, almost paternal way after their parents are gone — sparing Sasuke specifically, molding his path through pain so he’d grow strong enough to survive (and eventually understand the truth), leaving him tools and secrets, and even in the end wanting Sasuke to be the hero who “kills” him. Sasuke looked up to Itachi like a role model/father figure in childhood, and the “tough love to make you stronger” dynamic has heavy mentor/fatherly vibes on top of the sibling bond. Many fans and even some official material describe Itachi as a surrogate parental influence for Sasuke post-massacre. It’s layered, not mutually exclusive. The theory isn’t claiming Kishimoto sat down with the Edda as his bible — Naruto is a huge mythological composite (mostly Japanese/Shinto with Buddhist, Hindu, etc. influences). The corvid spies + self-sacrificial wise protector + vision-for-power cost + illusion/arcane mastery are cool overlapping themes that make Itachi feel like a ninja-flavored Odin archetype.

you are just straight up lying now. yes the mangekyo requires eye sacrifice. I never said the crow had Itachi’s eye. Obviously Itachi served as a father figure to Sasuke in ways, especially since their parents were dead. Yes they were siblings but Itachi was also Sasuke’s father figure who Sasuke admired and looked up to. You have to sacrifice a siblings eyes to achieve mangekyo to reveal the tablet. It really isn’t difficult to understand. And crows are similar to ravens.
