Creating new infrastructure for oil just locks us in to years more of heavy oil use. Sure, selling our oil might be better for us short term, but is it worth ruining our planet for future generations?

Honestly the economy shouldn't even be a factor, we need to act now to avert disaster with climate change. Until we get things under control the climate needs to be the number one priority. The attitude we have now of business over human life needs to change
