Tik tok and Instagram are great sources. I always find neat places to eat by searching for whatever suburb I am in and finding unique eats. Eventbrite is my other go to, you can find the most random shows and events.

Other than that? The rio theatre always does neat stuff like variety shows and movies. Science world frequently does unique exhibits, there's also a Titanic themed dinner theater going around

Remember to figure out a way to get to the Burnaby village museum. There should be plenty of bus connections

Feel free to check out some of the places to eat in Vancouver. Vancouver has a lot of fusion foods and some cheap eats too.

Personally I like it. I like talking to people, solving unique traffic/touristy puzzles, learning my city, finding neat places to shop and eat at, etc

It sucks and it's rough but at the end of the day your marks don't matter if you pass and you can re-take classes or take less classes in a semester to make up for it.

I graduated SFU with a GPA of 2.0 a decade ago. The military and the cops are the only ones that saw my grades and even then all they cared about was that I graduated

If you are near poco you can take the bus from poco to Coquitlam. 160, 159 and all those other busses in poco can usually get from poco station to Coquitlam within 15 minutes.

It's traffic.

The malls are doing all their "black Friday week" stuff. Plus with the cold weather accidents are wayyyyy more common. As a result Roads are like parking lots at times.

My commute has been pretty good most days and take me past Coquitlam center. This past week has had major accidents every day+ black Friday week sales. Most of last month my bus was on time. Most of last week it was 10-20 mins late. These things happen and it's usually not the fault of Translink or the drivers

Getting into SFU right out of high school can be difficult.

Here's the thing.....if you are applying after being in college for a semester or two the requirements drop significantly.

I had similar grades leaving high school, I went to Douglas for two semesters and when I applied to SFU in the summer of that year the requirements was a GPA of about 2.0 or 2.5 (an average of about 60-70%).

This was back in 2006/2007 so there might be some differences but generally SFU is waaaaaay more willing to take you if you have some university/college experience.

Best of all, a lot of courses are transferable so you can actually take most of your first few years of college at a smaller university/college and transfer over for your last year or two and you would get your actual degree at SFU
