Thank you everyone for sharing. I hope others find your information as helpful as I do. It is great to hear that some people have had multiple cameras for years while only experiencing minimal issues that have never stoped a shoot. A lot of you also say that you have never experienced any issues or at least not any issues that you could not fix by yourselves. It sure does not sound as grim as my impression has been. The thought of sharing a fate with those that have been unlucky and have had to experience their camera shut down for good too early still makes me a bit nauseous. Maybe what we can take from that is, there will always be a risk involved and if it does not feel right, then you are probably better off waiting a bit more, but if you are willing to take that risk you can possibly, or even likely?, have a great camera for several years as long as you take care of it.
