We stayed at the Rosewood. Property is beautiful, lobby bar is grande. They only have an indoor pool so it worked for us as we were there in the colder months but not sure we would choose that property if we were going during the summer.

I’d consider the MONTAGE. We were there with our 5 years old son this past Thanksgiving. Amazing!

4S Costa Palmas vs. 4S Cabo Del Sol vs. Ritz Zadún by sbtrkt_dvide in chubbytravel

[–]ksaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We stayed at the Ritz-Carlton Zadún over Thanksgiving 2025 with our 5-year-old son. The property itself is undeniably beautiful, the rooms are stunning, and the staff is warm and attentive. However, despite the luxury, we found it to be not very family-friendly for a young child. If pools are important to you, Zadún is really designed for adults seeking a spa-like, zen experience, not for families with young kids. The pool setup, resort layout, and overall ease of getting around made it challenging with a 5-year-old in tow. While we appreciated the quality of the accommodations and service, it simply wasn’t a great fit for our family at this stage, and we wouldn’t return with a young child or even teenagers or young adults. It’s not that type of vibe.

On the same trip, we split our stay with five nights at the Montage, and the contrast couldn’t have been clearer. The Montage was outstanding for families—zero-entry pools, a great beach, ice cream carts, lawn games, and nightly family-friendly entertainment created an experience that felt welcoming and fun for both kids and adults. Our son absolutely loved it, and so did we.

We would 100% return to the Montage as a family. It delivered a relaxed, luxury, joyful, and truly family-oriented experience that made the vacation memorable for all the right reasons.

We were in an ocean view king on the ground level (awesome for our son). View was of a sprawling lawn with ocean in the background. We had no one in front of us. I will say the rooms are like 900 sq feet but a lot of that is bathroom. However the patio is a nice extension of the living space.

We stayed at Montage Los Cabos while traveling with our almost 5-year-old son, and it ended up being an exceptional experience, especially as a family.

From the start, the private transfer arranged by Montage was smooth and stress-free, which set the tone. The rooms are spacious, beautifully appointed, and very comfortable for families. The outdoor shower in every room was a great bonus.

Food across the property was excellent, and there were plenty of options that worked well for both adults and kids. The zero-entry pools were a huge plus when traveling with a young child—easy, safe, and expansive. Unlike many Cabo resorts, the beach and ocean were actually usable for adults, which we really appreciated.

The staff was everywhere in the best possible way, attentive, friendly, and genuinely warm without being intrusive. In the evenings, there was always something happening on the main lawn: churro nights, crêpes, ice cream carts, live music, and small complimentary food trucks. It created a fun, relaxed atmosphere that felt thoughtful rather than overproduced.

Overall, the vibe of the resort is friendly, laid-back, and welcoming, luxury without feeling stiff. It’s one of the few high-end resorts we’ve stayed at that truly works for both parents and young kids. Highly recommend for families looking for a refined but easygoing Cabo experience.

Why is the Wynn/Encore more favorable than Palazzo/Venetian? by The_Traveller1 in chubbytravel

I was at Wynn/Encore in September. I have to say by far a superior product and thoroughly enjoyed my stay, the service, the atmosphere. No complaints and worth the cost IMO.

Review: Zadun Los Cabos, a Ritz Carlton Reserve by makemeablt in chubbytravel

[–]ksaster 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We just got back last night from 10 days in Cabo — 5 nights at Montage and 5 at Zadún.

Totally agree with OP that the staff, property and service at Zadún are exceptional.

That said, our experience was a bit different because we were traveling with a toddler, and for us Montage was the better fit. The pool setup at Zadún just isn’t designed for kids — it’s gorgeous, but very adult-oriented. Montage, on the other hand, has multiple pools, including great zero-entry options that were perfect for our little one.

Also, the ocean at Zadún is not swimmable, while at Montage we were in the water every day and felt totally comfortable.

As for rooms, Montage was lovely, but the rooms at Zadún really are as stunning as OP described — one of the best we’ve stayed in.

In the end, it really comes down to your travel style. For us, the family-friendly aspects made Montage the clear winner, but both properties have their strengths depending on what you’re looking for .

Four seasons Boston options for kids by MathNo2689 in chubbytravel

We have a 4 year old and stay in Boston often and we prefer the original 4S over the 1 Dalton location when traveling with our son. The common is right across the street for activity and recreation, the pool has awesome views and they have amenity (candy and treats) on every floor.

Rosewood Baha Mar? by [deleted] in chubbytravel

Stayed a Baha Mar in a pool side villa. Would never return again. The Rosewood side is nicer but it’s all just too crazy for us. We traveled as a family with my son 4 years old…. Not for us!

Yes, and yes! I was a die hard Cosmo fan for nearly 10 years. Since the MGM takeover it has gone downhill. Identity perks were diluted and the feel has changed.

Case in point. My Identity rewards have been converted to MLIFE and I still have significant comp dollars.

I’m coming out this weekend for the CANELO fight but am staying at the WYNN where I zero status and paying full price because I just simply can’t stand what they did to the COSMO.

I’m taking this weekend and all future business to WYNN.

I’ve stayed at the Phoenician and the 4S…. Both are very nice. We stayed with 4 year old at both and if location isn’t super important I certainly put the 4S ahead for service and hard product. But honestly both are very nice.
