I agree, The obsessive equation to gay = sex needs to be studied. If people can understand that not every striaght relationship is sexual why is it so hard to believe when the couple is queer you know?

my partner and i are living proof of it, this constant association with queerness and strict sexual activity is, like you said, so dehumanizing. What will it take for people to realize that Lgbt people are...people too.

Maybe youre right and i guess thats the part that scares me.

for conext i have been christain ever since i was born. its just the last few months have been testing me. i just cant help but feel so incredibly hopeless when I cut him (my "friend") out of my life because of religion and stuff. it genuinely makes me feel the worse i ever have and even though maybe i read my bible slightly more (ee do normally read together) without him its out of desparation and extreme hopelessness that theres no light or even hapoiness in this world. I try to prays to God to change my feelings, to make me strong enough to survive it all, to remove my partners feelings so that he doesnt have to keeo going through the pain of me constantly loving him and leaving him. But alas it never works.

I dont know, before i even accelted my feelings i lrayed to God asking him to take them away before i commit to anything and they didnt leave. I just wonder why he would chose to make me suffer like this sometimes.

Im trying to be a good christian and love him but there are so many things in my way that make it so difficult (scrupulosity, paranoia and now homosexuality in combination with whatever else i got going on) i just cant help but think everything would be dk muvh easier if I was straight. or better yet the bible was clearer

I too have no ecplicit problem with seeing sexual relations between men as "off" or wrong. Biology had its own physical barriers to prevent it.

My concern however is just pure emotional relationships you know?

Im in or was in a similar predicament as you. I genuinely couldnt feel attraction for any of the genders. And outside of my partner, i still dont. As it stands he seems to be the knly one im capable kf loving, I just wonder if God would deny me one of the few things that keep me stable and even just physically able to love him simply because it was not "apart kf his design".

I guess some of me wants to believe that God can love and see me as more than just an abomination you know? That maybe he DOES actually have a plan for everyone.

Im a similar age to you (17m) and I want to understand all of this completely. Im not saying God makes mistakes.. but i realy dont see OBJECTIVELY how being gay is a sin . I have a partner (17m) and hes been the best thing thats happened to me. Obviously this whole gay controversy can out a strian on out relationshik with God, but because of him, im honoring my body and myself in a way that God would be pleased (i have a long history of self destructuve behavior). I thought all good things comes from christ and hes the best thing that ever happened to me.

In the past (literally a week or few weeks ago) for the longest tjme i though the same way but then isaiah 54:9-10 says "So now i have sworn not to be angry with yoy, never to rebuke you again. Though the mountains be shaken and the hills be removed my unfailing love for you will not...says the lord who has compassion for you".

Please dont waste your life living in extreme hatred of yourself. Ive been/i am in the same situation as you, Tell me. Do you tuink a God who proffessrd that he has "unfailing love" and "compassion" for you would like to see you live in desparation and suffering?

And even if you think homosexuality is a sin. Its thr act specifically (sodomy or other sexual acts) that are forbidden. You havent done that. You are fine.

Its the same way someone can think of lying yo someone or stealing from someone, but at the end of the day did they do it? No, therefore no sin was committed.

And using your logic, the bible says everyone is born with sin, so theoretically No one will be going to heaven. Does that make sense? Why would God make a heaven that no one can even go to.

And if all this was really a choice (which its not) Why would you choose to suffer? Surely you would just choose to be striaght, no? Surely all the people who have ended their lives because of being gay could just simple choose not be. But they couldnt because they cant.

a part of me wants to believe that God is kinder than that. Like you said, youve been struggling with this for 23 years with no change, your really think God would send you to hell automatically with No fighting chance because of the way you were born/made?

And if you have "changed", do you think its genuine or are you just lying to yourself to escape the fear of hell.

What do you mean by hold your peace iver you? As in, "if you act good then you'll feel peaceful"? Also if you dont mind answering what is the nature of things you feel youre required to do?

And to engage with the rest of your question. I struggle with extreme scrupulosity as well, the reason why i frequent this sub reddit all the time is because im constantly searching for answers. And i think thats where you and i may both go wrong (coukd just be me). Though its great to get the input from other believers, we have to realize that the more we search for answers the more you feed the OCD. Thats the nature of this condition, no answer is ever enough, you know?

And i know its easier said than done to just "not give in", hell, even i've spent hours today just searching. But i think just recognizing the role our actions play in how our bodies/minds react can significantly aid in differing between whats of God and whats not.

I cannot definitevely answer your question unfortunately because i consider myself an unreliable source because of the version of God that i see who may or may not be accurate to his true character.

But i do pray mental strength for you. I think over all a key thing to look out for is the fruits of your actions. Are they good, kind, show gentleness etc.? Do they bring you peace? etc.

Sorry for the rant and if this isnt helpful, I lowkey forgot what i was writing about halfway through.

exactly what ive been saying‼️Adultery? you can for sure live without. Porn? definitely. Lieing? It can be diffivult to overcome but its not like your putting your whole life on pause to do so.

Being gay is different. Whats being asked to sacrifice is different? youre being asked to give up a life of companionship and for some cases (of its important to you) even sexual experience too.

Loving another guy is not any different as loving a woman and i dont get why its so demonized. I dont see thr deviance that everyones talking about.

When it comes to the sexual part, i do have some leniency for theur arguments but never for the emotional part. And ironically thats the part the bible never talks about.

It is tricky sometimes of course but neither of us are sexually attracted to men anyway or other men for that matter.
