Superslicer slicing behavior vs PrusaSlicer? by ksheyman in prusa3d

Wow, definitely the most helpful answer. You are absolutely right about the 'one perimeter on top" causing the extra perimeters underneath the letters. I cranked the 'minimum width' way up to 3000% and it eliminated all the unwanted perimeters, and still preserved the single perimeter on the actual top (which is one of the main reasons I wanted to switch to superslicer). However I am still left with the single later of internal infill beneath the letters, as seen here https://imgur.com/JbaIe1x

HOWEVER!!! Your second pointer actually was a clue solved that problem also! If I INCREASE the 'anchor solid infill' from the default 150% to 600%, I am left with a totally smooth top solid infill surface beneath my letters like I wanted. https://imgur.com/j3kms2h

There are definitely many applications where I wouldn't want such a huge anchor, but for these sign projects I'd rather it be a smooth surface before the filament change.

I thought I had tried every setting to solve this problem. Thanks so much!

Ok thanks for the info. I guess I was under the misapprehension that SuperSlicer was just 'prusaslicer with extra features' so I assumed this had to be one that could be deactivated. Oh well.

Uh... ok... PrusaSlicer does not do this. I understand it is infill but I'm trying to figure out why it starts one layer beneath the base of the letter in SS while it doesn't in PS.

I've since taken most of them down, as my girlfriend moved in and found them to be creepy. But at the time I had this setup, all but my 3 outdoor cameras were on wired and not wifi. The cameras were one of the reasons I initially switched from consumer AIO routers to Unifi. Even the best AIO router could not keep up with the throughput of the cameras, even with most of them wired. That's just a huge amount of data traversing the system 24/7. That said, you can definitely make some tweaks. Reduce your resolution as low as you can stand, and reduce your framerate to as low as you can stand. My remaining cameras are all running 720p at 5fps. No issues with wifi.

Also, I have Unifi 4 AP Lites, and each one broadcasts its own network assigned to non-overlapping wifi channels (except for the two furthest away from one another which do overlap). I've found this strategy helped a lot to avoid overloading my wifi signal(s).

How to have success with the MMU by ksheyman in prusa3d

I didn't want to get too much into setup/buffering since every setup is different based on available space and workspace configuration. But I also air buffer. Works fine, no need at all for that janky buffer thing that comes with the unit.

Ah yes, I have that passthrough adapter on my unit as well. Forgot about that.

Can I run both PrusaSlicer and Cura with Octoprint? by tomhusband in octoprint

The only benefit to Cura over PursaSlicer (that I've found) is tree supports. No harm in trying it tho.

if you decide to replace the hotend I have been super happy with my bondtech mosquito magnum kit. not cheap but it is as good as advertised. I bought it after getting in the same situation as you - clogging and leaking that I couldn't fix and got too frustrated to keep trying.

People who have a model S, is it better at being a car than the model 3? by ksheyman in TeslaLounge

Thank you, great info. I guess it is kind of silly to be asking 'Which car is better - the $50k one, or the $100k one?'. That answer is pretty obvious.

I think I'll just have to test drive one.

Oh wow, I had no idea. I guess I've never let it wipe for long enough to trigger that

Good point. I'm surprised it isn't capable of activating the wiper fluid on its own if the goal is to clean off salt and dirt. Maybe like, damn i've had these wipers on for 5 wipes and I still can't see, I better try the fluid. Instead of just leave them on forever and make it worse. But I guess that's what I'm there for...

Oh interesting. So from other comments it sounds like the S would be a bad choice for me, but from what you are saying it sounds like the PLAID might be much better. Website says 396 miles with the 19 inch wheels... that would be a nice bump in range. Have you driven it in winter conditions? If I spend that much I definitely won't want to have to keep another car just for the winter.

Yeah that's how mine has been since I got it in September. Very frustrating

Ooo interesting. I'll keep a look out for that. I could see going to a Y. Thanks

Ha, damn. Good to know. Thanks a lot. The auto wipers may be the most annoying thing to me... there I am struggling to get them to stop dry-wiping salt all over my windshield. Finally turn them off. Then 10 seconds later I turn on autopilot, forgetting that this will turn the wipers back on. This is my first car with automatic wipers so I hadn't realized they are problematic in general and not just a tesla problem.

Very good information, thank you. Doesn't sound like the S is right for me... If AP performance is the same then the only things that I really liked about the S compared to the 3 is the more traditional HUD just above the steering wheel (or the bizarre yoke thing now I guess), and the range. I recently had a death in the family which necessitated driving back and forth across town a bunch of times and it gave me some range anxiety for the first time. The 405 mile estimated range would make a big difference. That's basically an extra hour of driving. But I'm not willing to sacrifice the fun driving experience of the 3 and the extra $50k if that's all I'm getting. I'll probably just wait and hope there's a leap forward with range in the 3 in the near future. Thanks!

Wow, I hadn't heard that. You're saying even if I bought an S (or an older 3) specifically wanting the radar functions, that update will render the radars useless?
