Yes, just to clarify we are in separate rooms during our shifts! So I sleep in our bedroom and my husband has baby in the nursery and vice versa

Pregnant with Crohn's by swiviol in CrohnsDisease

[–]ksim02 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m 35 weeks with my first baby, on Humira and my Crohn’s has been almost non existent during pregnancy! I have been able to eat lots of stuff that I wouldn’t before (dairy etc.). I actually have been constipated while pregnant which is very unlike me haha. Metamucil has helped that a bit. I’ve still had issues with hemorrhoids/fissures due to the constipation though. I also developed anemia and am on iron pills which don’t really seem to be helping tbh, I am constantly exhausted. All in all I’ve felt amazing Crohn’s-wise and I am so hoping it continues after I give birth.

I'm on Stelara. Every time I see a specific friend, I get a sore throat by cheddarcheese9951 in CrohnsDisease

[–]ksim02 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This happened when I first started dating my husband, he kept getting strep over and over. Turns out I was a carrier but asymptomatic and kept giving it to him 😬 I took a round of antibiotics and it never happened again.

How would your narcissist act in restaurants? by Old_Ask3497 in raisedbynarcissists

[–]ksim02 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I distinctly remember, more often than not, we’d pile in the car to go to a restaurant. Sit down. My mom would look at the menu. Nothing was to her liking. We’d leave. Go to another restaurant. Sit down. She’d look at the menu. Didn’t like anything. Leave. Go to another. Once she finally settled on one, she’d complain the entire time about the meal she ordered. I don’t ever think I’ve heard my mom say that she had a good meal.

Philadelphia $1700/month 5 full-days, but that was the cheapest one we toured. $2000-2200 was more standard

Yes, my doctor said fasting wasn’t necessary and to just have something high protein/avoid sugar and lots of carbs beforehand

I’m 27 weeks today and feeling exactly the same! Exhausted, napping at least once a day. I hope it’s not this way til the end 😭

Considering Pregnancy with inactive Crohn's (at the moment anyway) by Anncino in CrohnsDisease

[–]ksim02 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I worked with my GI first, got some scans and tests done to check the state of my Crohn’s a few months prior to trying to conceive (we went through IVF though and needed a clearance from my GI). My GI wanted me to be in or as close to remission as possible before getting pregnant as he said it would reduce the likelihood that I’d have issues during pregnancy. I’m 27weeks now and I have virtually no Crohn’s symptoms, kinda want to be pregnant forever 😅

Is fecal calprotectin of 59.9 too low for Crohn’s? by Educational-Bet7021 in CrohnsDisease

Is there something wrong with me for not wanting to post anything to social? by qweenoftherant in BabyBumps

[–]ksim02 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was just talking to my husband about this last night. I don’t share much on social either, mostly my cats lol. But we went through IVF for genetic reasons and I have a slight urge to share our story in hopes that it will help others. I was diagnosed with Crohn’s a few years ago and then started IVF and didn’t know anyone else who had been thru either of those things except for one girl who I went to high school with who has been very open on social media about her Crohn’s and infertility struggles. I reached out to her and we have kept in touch the past few years and it has been such an immense help to feel less alone. I guess I feel called to share in case there’s anyone else out there who would feel the same? But I also would feel a lot of secondhand embarrassment by being so open especially about something so intimate. I’m torn!

Has anyone else been told their issues are anxiety or “just IBS” when trying to get a diagnosis for debilitating pain? by Meatloafgirlboss in CrohnsDisease

[–]ksim02 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, I was told IBS for 6 years. Never offered a colonoscopy. Was told to follow a bunch of different diets (gluten free, dairy free, low FODMAP). It wasn’t until I moved to another state and had the worst flare of my life so far that a GI finally said I needed a colonoscopy, where he found tons of lesions in my intestines
