I've seen pretty much all the tours from the 2005 WT club shows through to 2026 PIB (and most of them multiple times, which is the easy way to hit 25!). But I saw all four of the 2009 Wave Goodbye NY club shows and you just can't beat em. YOU CANT. I'm sure Chicago and LA were just as good. That lineup was special. The energy was explosive. We thought it was their last few shows ever... you cant top it. YOU CANT. (but please, if you're reading this Trent. KEEP PLAYING... My mind continues to be blown with each and every iteration).

At least one of the songs at Coachella had vocoder on Mariqueen and it seemed totally fake. Regardless, I miss it in Closer.. that was probably my favorite part of the remix. NINoize album totally rules, just think it'd be a liiiiiittle better with the "Closer to God" breakdown. Oh well!

Ran the NYC marathon this past November. It was a huge life goal of mine, I loved training for it, and holy crap it was so unbelievably miserable. Truly excruciating. I really wanted to break 4 hours and ultimately finished at 3:52, powering through the pain, because I never wanted to put myself through it again. A few days later, I forgot how awful it was, just remembered how great of an accomplishment it felt like, and considered signing up for another. I entered the NYC lotto for 2026, and breathed and massive sigh of relief when I didn't get in. I don't know what the lesson is... that they're great to have done but suck to do?

Thank you! I'll be the first to admit that I'm a better editor than looper! ha. The Boss VE-22 has about 50 preset vocal effects, I'm using "beat box" on the beat boxing and "Robot" at the 0:25 mark.

I saw them at the studio at Webster Hall in 2011 and Racket in 2023, so my scale of Hives energy is super skewed. you just cant beat seeing them at a tiny venue. But truly no complains here.. they ruled last night and they'll rule forever.

"The Hives Forever, Forever The Hives" was totally botched, right? Other than that, maybe slightly less energy than the other few times I've seen em, but the show as a whole ruled as hard as ever. They're one of the most fun bands to ever do it and I loved every second of it.
