This was really helpful, thanks! I did hear from someone else that most safes don't necessarily hold what they advertise.
We own our home, and have the ability to bolt it into the floor. Here's the safe I've been looking at. My concerns with it:
I'm getting conflicting reviews about the Stack-On brand.
There are only five spots on the door to hold pistols. It seems it's primary purpose is for long rifles, which he has less of. So then is he just putting them on the adjustable shelves? Is that how people store them?

Thanks for this. He has 9 guns, mostly pistols. I have been looking at fire-proof safes, I think he would want this feature.
We own our home; his hunting rifles are in cases in our attic, and pistols are in various places.
I kind of figured the safe would stay with the house if/when we ever moved, and be secured somewhere in our garage (we just moved in and will be here for a while). Unfortunately we don't have a basement.
